We stayed here last weekend (Friday-Sunday). Excellent modern hotel 3 minutes walk from the Central Railway Station. (Journey time from Schipol Airport was 20 minutes). Good spacious room on the 10th floor, plenty of floor space, very comfortable bed and a good quality bathroom. Reception and Guest Services staff very friendly and keen to please. (Plus of course the Doubletree cookies)! As we were very lucky with the weather the added bonus was that the rooftop sky lounge was open. Here you can sit and enjoy the sunshine with an excellent bar service with great views across the whole of Amsterdam. To get around the city we walked and used the fantastic tram system. Most attractions are fairly central and easily found. The hop on/hop off canal boats are also an excellent way to explore the city. All rooms have an Apple Mac (doubles as your television) with excellent Wifi. We breakfasted at the hotel one morning and this was a reasonable quality with plenty of choice. This is a great base to explore the city and I would happily stay here again.

Next to Central station, overlooking A'dam city center -- really nice service and surprisingly good food in restaurant downstairs in the evening. Was here for a conference, which seemed to go smoothly (food at lunch buffet and in breaks was not great). Apple computer = TV in room which is a great idea and worked well.

Room Tip: WIFI in my room (552) at the back of the hotel was poor, which was frustrating, because I couldn't use my computer or iPhone properly. I think the WIFI worked better in other rooms. That room overlooks the train tracks and you do hear the trains going through; personally, I don't have problems sleeping through noise, but some people might.

As a first time visitor to Amsterdam I was slightly hesitant to book the Doubletree on account of it looking quite far out of town. I couldn't have been more wrong. The hotel itself is a 3minute walk from the station making it the easiest arrival into a city ever, it is then perfectly positioned on the edge of city away from the crowds and noise but within walking distance to everywhere. Amsterdam is really quite small and very accessible.

On check in we were greeted by really friendly and enthusiastic staff who made us feel right at home.

I had an executive queen room, which was small but perfectly formed, and the high floor and city views made the space feel spacious and airy. And as you might expect the hotel was pristinely clean and no noise from other guests - apart from Friday night when I could hear the people in the room next to us talking, (but I am an exceptionally light sleeper), and after ringing concierge for some ear plugs I slept fine.

The other benefit of the executive room was access to the executive lounge with free drinks and canapés in the evening, which made the perfect base to decide where to eat each night. Very relaxing during the week and nice to be away from the bustle of the regular bar, but on the weekend it was extremely busy.

The thing that made our stay really special though was the guest services team, who remembered us by name and always went the extra mile to book us restaurants and make suggestions on places to visit. They even printed our boarding passes for us.

This hotel is all about customer service.

We even received a personal email from the management team thanking us for our feedback on the comments card.

Final thing, be sure to hire the bikes to see the city (they're the cheapest in town - we checked) we did a round trip through the Jordaan and back round past the IJ Brewery in a day. Perfect.

Room Tip: Ask for a city view.

Hilton is the right hotel to book if you do not have too many days to visit Amsterdam and do not want to waste a lot of time to walk around the city center where everything happens.
Great location, friendly staff and fantastic chocolate cookie welcome.
Breakfast is very good, clean hotel, but terrible beds - too small, too soft and unstable yogis of which you at all times makes you end up on the floor and the occasional problem with the air conditioning in the room - too cold!
Even though I was sleep-deprived left the Hilton, I would definitely recommend the hotel because of the precious staff, location and wonderful views of the sky bar which offers excellent coffee and cookies.
Plus to Croatian girl on breakfast who was on the practice!
Love Amsterdam!
