“Room, Location, Service all wonderful”

Had a great stay at The Double Tree in an Executive Queen Double room. We flew into Schiphol and then took the train to Centraal Station which is only a short stroll from the hotel. The reception staff were so helpful at all times and a nice touch to hand out the chocolate cookies. The room had a fantastic view over the river and the city centre from our huge floor to ceiling windows, you could see the boat cruisers and the house boats. A sun-screen automatically closes and diffuses direct sunlight when the sun shines directly into the room, though you can over-ride it if you like. Everything is so handy to the hotel, so no problems getting around to different sights. Breakfasts were good and plentiful. The Wifi was great and so was the use of Apple Mac computer. The restaurant served quality meals at night and we dined there exclusively, the steak melted in your mouth .. we were going to try the wonderful looking Chinese restaurant just a short distance away on our last night, but unfortunately it was pouring rain so we opted to stay in, rather disappointed about that as it looks so wonderful sitting on the river. The Executive Lounge maybe should have been in a larger area, as some people seemed to get a table early and then hog them for the duration and guzzle the drinks, though I guess that's their problem not the hotel. We had a truly wonderful time at Double Tree and I would recommend it to anyone. Would definitely stay here if we return to Amsterdam at some future time.

After having our first flight cancelled from US to Amsterdam, we finally arrived and checked into the Doubletree in Amsterdam. The hotel is centrally located in the center of Amsterdam close to transportation, tours and restaurants. Their staff were very friendly and had rooms for us a little after 10AM (Amsterdam time). We used the Lobby Cafe for our breakfast every day since it was included in the price of the room. We also ate dinner in same cafe two nights. The food was excellent both times. I highly recommend the Richly stocked bouillabaisse served with aioli and brioche croutons. I had it both nights. They did not do the best job of preparing a martini at the Lobby Bar. The Sky Lounge on the top floor seems to be the place to hangout for drinks. Beautiful view of the city.

Room Tip: Try to get one of the rooms facing the canal

Always try to stay in the Doubletree by Centraal Station Amsterdam when I'm there on business, as it's great for the station (5 mins direct walk, walk out the front of the station, turn left, cross the tram tracks and the road and it's in front of you), also well placed for my customers, with the ability to meet them in one of the two bars, or the restaurant, so from a business perspective it's great.

Only drawbacks are that a. it's very busy and therefore gets completely booked out quickly when there's a conference on, and b. The prices go sky-high when it is busy, to the point where it's cheaper to stay in the Amrath across the road with its Michelin starred restaurant, which is crazy.

But, when you can get in, and when the price doesn't make your wallet bleed, it's a great hotel to stay in on a business trip.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that doesn't face the railway if you sleep with your window open and want to avoi...

We stayed here at the end of a river cruise. Convenient comfortable and business like. Very close to wharf and to Centraal station for our departure to France. Our room had a great view over the city it was clean and functional. The Rooftop lounge was excellent, good food, service and wonderful view. Seemed a trendy spot for locals to come. In contrast the so called Executive lounge was crowded and very ordinary. Not worth paying for.

The hotel was lovely, nice room. Clean and nice views however the breakfast was expensive. There was a honeycomb look alike I thought can't believe real honey comb because I only eat raw honey at home but if it was normal honey I would of eaten it. Because I suffer from certain sugar intolerance. It turned out it tasted like golden syrup which I cannot eat, I ask several members of staff eventually it was confirmed it was not raw honey comb but could not confirm if it was honey. People who suffer from sugar or starch intolerance should check this out because there isn't any other types of honey available at breakfast. Other wise I cannot fault our hotel stay.

The hotel is very week located, the rooms are very nice but too noisy due to the trains passing by. The service professional but slow (long queues to checkin and checkout). Also, they refused to serve a beer at the Statuary breakfast (late breakfast/brunch)... That's not normal in a 5* hotel in Amsterdam!!!

DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station was so centrally located(next to Centraal Station) travellers can reach Amsterdam’s famous shopping streets and heritage sites within minutes of walking distance.Trams,buses,metro,canel cruise are somewhere around the corner too.
Direct train to/from Schiphol International Airport and well connected international train sevices.
A bit of waiting during check in as this is a popular hotel at excellent location ,crowds are expected.
Warmly welcome by the receptionist and were given 2 sweet chocolate cookies as a appreciatation for waiting.
Reserved a twin executive room(due to over demand standard room were fully booked),assigned room 635 was stylish, bright and spacious, floor-to-ceiling windows with fabulous views of the historic city centre of Amsterdam as well as the IJ River. Enjoy an Apple iMac computer(both TV &
internet access), complimentary WiFi access, coffee/tea facilities,ironing facilites,safe,minibar etc. Nice and clean bathroom with power shower and some basic toiletries as well.
Executive room are for entitled for late check-out till 2PM and free newspaper.This room also offer complimentary late afternoon drinks and snack(pastries,crackers,candies,fruits etc) in the Executive Lounge which is also accessible 24HRS for free coffee,tea and water.
Variety of breakfast dishes, dishes replenished fast and very appetising. Highly recommended fried fish fillet,sushi and extra long sausage. If provided with a Espresso coffee machine is would be better,as coffee served to table taste bland.
Overall have a joyful stay at Doubletree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station. Definitely will return again during my second of visit Amsterdam despite the expensive room rate.

Room Tip: Only Executive and suit rooms are located facing the city and river views. Standard room are normall...
