“Will return!”
Reviewed 14 August 2013

We booked this hotel based on the reviews here and we must say we werent dissappointed at all! The location is superb ! Within minutes to Dam Square, Jordaan area and the Centraal Station.

When you first arrive at the Centraal Station, it’s just a few minutes walking distance to the hotel. There’s no real need to take the taxi or the tram.

Perfectly located on a quiet street in the Centrum area, the hotel itself is very quaint. Sebastian’s also fronts the canals and is within walking distance to food options, shopping, the works...

We stayed at the medium sized canal facing room (after all, you’re in Amsterdam – a canal facing view is a must! ) It’s a little small for space…but enough for just the two of us. Beds are really comfortable, wifi internet is fast and the in-room espresso machine lends a nice touch.

The staffs are all friendly and very helpful. Upon arrival and check in, they whipped out a map and proceeded to mark out the areas to explore. How nice! ☺

All in all, we had a lovely time staying here and will surely return!

Room Tip: Canal facing rooms is a must! In the mornings, its very nice to wake up with the view of the canal...

Close enough to the sites and train station, yet in a quite residential area. Very helpful and well-informed staff. The Jordaan is nearby with excellent dinner options. Bathroom was small compared to room size, but beds were comfortable and in-room espresso machine was much appreciated. We didn't have a canal view room, but walked so much of Amsterdam that it really didn't matter.

Really nothing but positives to say about our stay, from the friendly welcome and advice on where to visit and eat to the good sized room with comfortable bed, coffee machine and efficient a/c. The hotel is boutique-style and situated in a quiet location on the Keizersgracht canal at the edge of the Jordaan district, which has many interesting shops, bars and restaurants. It is only about 15mins walk from Central Station and within easy walking/cycling distance of most of the major sights. All at a very reasonable price.

My family ( husband, myself and three daughters ) have just returned from a three night stay. We echo all the positive reviews regarding location, service and comfort, so I will just add a few details.

It was very hot whilst there and the air con in our double room was brilliant with a very efficient hand held control, in our daughter's triple room it appeared to be much warmer so we mentioned it at reception, within hours the unit had been fixed, we even thought it may have been replaced and the room beautifully cool.

We were handed a list of recommended restaurants and ate at one 'Seasons' , the food was very good and the service friendly but we thought expensive at 160 Euros for 5 two course meals with 2 cokes, 2 beers and tap water, one of the meals was a salad and another a veggie pasta dish. The other two nights we ate at restaurants not on the list and enjoyed both, especially
One called I'l Fioro near to the hotel. The slow cooked shoulder of lamb with potatoes and veg was to die for, really delicious.

The bar at the hotel is great for a per dinner drink and is also where you have breakfast, again we couldn't fault it, great selection, including bacon, sausage, mushrooms, beans, blinis and scrambled eggs!

One tip, if you intend to visit Anne Frank's house, (10 mins walk from hotel) book online before you go, we saved ourselves an hour and a half of queuing.

We came on the Eurostar via Brussels, it was a very straight forward journey, with a lunch time stop in Brussels and a smooth transfer to the fast train to Amsterdam. It cost £76 return from London, the
Hotel is a 10-15 min walk from Central station, the hotel will email you a walking map.

We would love to return some time soon and continue to explore and visit the many attractions, we will definitely stay at
Sebastian's.

My wife and I just got home after a 3 night stay at Sebastian's and we had a great time!

It's such a cool funky little hotel! To start with the staff were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great with a good selection of food to keep most happy. Free WiFi is always nice (for those from another country). The bar is really cool (although we were usually there by ourselves) Bike hire was nice and the only way to get lost in the back streets of Amsterdam.

Sebastian's is close enough to all the major attractions but far enough (from the red light district) that you are guarantied a pretty quiet nights sleep.

All in all a pleasant stay and we'd go back in a second.
