The staff are very helpful and friendly. There are demonstrations and workshop sessions for the production of etchings and demonstrations on the preparation of paint. It was informative and enjoyable.- and a free coffee next door!

It is a nice place to stop off since it won't take you too long and it is quite interesting what is told about it. Highly recommend the audio tour so you can understand more about the house.

Rembrandt is near the top of my list of favourite artists, so this was a must-see for me. I didn't expect too much, and don't usually like audio presentations - but this was an exception. The recorded explanations were intelligent and informative, and provided a real feel for what life was like for the artist and his family.

The paintings are copies, but upstairs there is an excellent exhibition of etchings, comparing Rembrandt's version of typical or classical scenes with those produced by other artists. There is also a workshop, allowing visitors to practise their own drawing and printing skills. I have no talent, so to avoid embarrasment, I avoided that!

This was a great experience... to walk the floors the master lived in and to see his gallery was amazing. I loved the intimacy. I was surprised at the number of paintings on display (most of which were by his students) and the etchings were amazing. I have been to Amsterdam several times and missed this - I am sorry it took me this long to find it. It was well worth the time and it took more time than I expected! Give yourself several hours. Also, it is close to a great flea market so the trip there is a good day of touring!
