Owner description: Rembrandt lived and worked from 1639 to 1658 in this 17th-century house, which today is a museum that pays tribute to the artist's life and career.

Found this to be pretty poor, especially when compared with the entry price (12.50 Euros), half this price and it may have just about been acceptable. Best thing to do is go to the Rijksmuseum and see his best work and don't bother with this. There are only a number of etching by Rembrandt on the top floor, no actual painting from what we could tell. Poor and bit of a rip-off.

There is a big difference in the interest for the art from van Gogh and Rembrandt. For one reason it is good, and for another reason it is a shame.

Good because there was not a long que we had to go through to enter the museum and then his house. It was fascinating to see how they lived in this house almost 400 years ago. The house is full of Rembrandt's paintings and I could have walked around there forever. The museum part was not so interesting, but they did have some sort of "class" at the top where you could learn how to print or paint or something... I really did not bother finding out what they did, I was there to enjoy myself, not get myself dirty. What is shame is that this would have deserved a lot more attention and interest - but I can not imagine how this museum would have coped with an interest on the level of the van Gogh museum.

Free entry with the Amsterdam Card.

An interesting look into 17th century home furnishings. The layout was authentic feeling and there were pretty fair amount of paintings and etchings to see.

If you thought you'd see a lot of paintings here then you're wrong. This is where Rembrandt lived. The free audio guide tells you the story of Rembrandt's life. There are several workshops inside the house. You can see how the etchings and prints were done, how the paints were made, and even got a first hand experience on printing.
