My wife and I really enjoyed our walking tour of the Red Light District. Steve, our tour guide, provided us with all the information about the ins and outs (literally!) of the protocols, risks and pleasures associated with the shops, bars, and working girls. We loved Steve's direct, often humorous, descriptions. Thank you for a fun activity!

We had a great experience. Small group. Guide was informative and personable. Could answer all our questions and was honest. One of the best I've had. Tasted Dutch cheese, Dutch gin and herring! (Would not do herring again!)

We took the Keukenhof and Flowerfields (5 hr) tour. We went on 7th May but the Flowerfields were all gone. The only tulips were at Keukenhof Gafdens. It had quite a variety but most of the flowers were well past bloom and limp. The bus ride was comfortable but nothing much in terms of scenery. The time provided at the garden was a little too long in my opinion. Next time I would take public transport to the gardens rather than spend the 45 Euro per person just for the transportation. Because really that is all that they provide. You are on your own when you get to the gardens.

Our tour guide was knowledgeable, could speak four languages, and very pleasant. Our tour driver was excellent. The tour bus was neat and clean. That said, these tours have many limitations. If you like in-depth information while touring, this is not for you. If you want a chance to frame your photograph, that is not happening either. If you want to invest a few hours being driven around and talked at, then this is for you.

The 3 hour city tour is not recommended. We believe we had a better city tour in the canal boats. (again, no depth of info on canal boats tour either)

Tours are advertised in four languages, English, French, Spanish, and Dutch. What this means is that, as you drive around, the guide says the same sentence in all four languages. There is no DEPTH of information. For example, the guide may say "Central Station, build in 1889, has 1/4 of a million people use it every day". This is repeated in all languages - then you are at your next city landmark where you get another short sentence in four languages.

We also did the half-day tour which included the windmills of Zaanse Schans (good), and the fishing villages of Volendam and Marken. In Volendam, at the museum, you are given a printed page to read and you wander on your own through their six or seven rooms. Excellent displays, but rather dry. You take a leisurely walk through the city, to the cheese factory/museum (disappointing - short and not detailed - but the cheese is EXCELLENT), have time to wander the waterfront/eat a quick meal on your own, then take a half-hour boat ride to Marken. In Marken, a walk though the charming community, along with a visit to the clog maker.

It is an OK way to spend your time, especially if you are not driving/biking on your own.

The buses and pre-recorded audio are pretty good. Our combination Kuekenhof tour guide was good but the one for Grand Holland tour was not very clear in her speech. The biggest issue was with the time alloted to various places. It was too short to cover Kuekenhof in 3 hours and Madurodam in 1 hour. Some of the places, like pottery factory can be dropped. Yellow cube houses were advertized but just glanced through the bus travelling at 50 kmph.
