Description: Bar restaurant Stork: an excellent fish in a special location in Amsterdam. Stork Cafe Restaurant is located in an old industrial warehouse on the site of The Other Side , the former Stork grounds , on the Northern IJ banks . The warehouse is left intact to a large extent so that the industrial character has been preserved . In the old machine hall is a large zinc bar and an open kitchen built. The immense space has a length of 50 meters many windows overlooking the IJ. The restaurant has over 150 seats and the cafe over 100. In the summer months there is a large south facing terrace , directly on the IJ. Stork Restaurant is a seafood restaurant , a gigantic size the largest in Amsterdam .

This is a huge place (a former factory building?) with a lovely view of the IJ. It is on the North bank of this waterway which runs behind the Central Station in Amsterdam and connects the Noordzee Channel with the Ijsselmeer. It is an up and coming area.
Appropriately the Stork menu emphasizes fish dishes. Our party of three had the Special oysters appetizer which was delicious. As main course one of my companions had the fish soup and I and the other diner had the Zeebaars (sea bass) which was prepared perfectly. With wine (four glasses) and one water "for Kenya", the bill came to 79 Euros.

Good location and building.
Great waterside and the food is good quality as well.
Unfortunately the waiter had either a huge hangover 20th of July or he is completely unsuitable for restaurant business or hospitality.
Too bad it can influence the complete experience.
Other service was good.

Restaurant Stork is in a large converted factory hall in industrial Amsterdam North with many original details still in place. It is actually huge. It also has some outdoor seating with views of the IJ. Very suited for large groups ... we were there for a casual workshop dinner with about 80 people, it went very well. A very casual style was chosen with a sequence of dishes handed out to standing and sitting diners and a bar in their neighbourhood. This went very well. The food was pretty good, both the fish as a beef meat skewer which was quite tasty. We finished somewhat remarkably on a Dutch style bag of fries with mayonnaise, which was however also quite tasty. The main disadvantage is probably that it is not that easy to reach, although sufficient free parking is available.

Interesting location on the water in a partially converted machine/factory/warehouse that was left pretty much intact. Wide open space on the water opposite the Central station. Interesting atmosphere but the service was quite slow and the meals (seafood risotto that was starchy and undercooked and a cold 40 euro seafood appetizer consisting of four fried peices, a dozen mussels and some smoked fish). Very expensive and not quite what it should be for the prices that are charged.

3 courses lunch was inspired delicious; good wines. Located in old factory, along the IJ (water that divides old and new Amsterdam) with terrace outside. You go by pont (boat) and then a 20 minutes walk. Not easy to find at first, but when you get there, lovely to relax and enjoy. Friendly and professional service.
