After leaving central station we decided to walk to the hotel as it was a lovely day and we didn't have much luggage !! it took us about half an hour and was very easy to find, you can get the tram though and its about 10 mins ! The hotel is luxurious and staff very helpful! We enjoyed coming back and resting our legs after a tiring day sightseeing ! The beds are comfy and bathroom immaculate! Highly recommended!

After a long trip through eastern Europe we ended our month long vacation by taking a night train from Zurich to Amsterdam. It was wonderful to arrive at hotel that was 4**** but not smack on the city center. From the main train station we took the cable car to our hotel (literally drops you 1/4 of a block away) upon arrival our room was ready. We were thrilled to have a modern room that was big by European standards. The bathroom was perfect we had a wonderful rain shower and entry of space. As for the cable tv well don't buy the package that mistakes your brain. You think for 15 euros your getting unlimited movies but that's not the case. It's a few additional channels. But then again your not in europe to watch tv! Spend time out of your room. There's even a self wash saloon a few blocks away. Across the street from there is a wonderful fruit stand. The owner makes fresh hummus and has a great selection of Mediterranean sides. We were so happy to pick up some fresh fruit, olives, hummus, amazing holland Gouda cheese, fresh bread and a bottle of wine! Dont forget to stop by the open market it's just across the bridge about 1/2 block from the hotel. My only issue is upon check out day we went to rent a car and pick up a gazelle bike that we were bringing back to the states. Check out is at 11 and we didn't get back from picking up the bike till after 11. The lady working the front desk was rude and said we had 10 min to pack. I laughed and said, "yeah ok I've been in Europe since Xmas it's going to take longer then 10 min" she was not happy!

My husband & I recently stayed here for 3 days to celebrate our wedding anniversary (we should have gone to Budapest but due to bad weather & cancelled flights we selected this hotel) and what a fantastic find. We highly rate the hotel for its decor, boutique style accomodation and extremely helpful staff, they were always pleasant and nothing was to much trouble. They even left a beautiful bottle of wine in our room.

Whilst the hotel is not in the centre it is within walking distance, there is a tram stop immediately outside the hotel. An open air market is only a few minutes away as are several shops coffee houses and supermarkets.
We were so pleased with the hotel we hope to return in the summer.

I've just spent 5 lovely nights in this hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking for a well located, but not touristy setting, close to all museums and desired sites in this astoundingly beautiful city. There is a lovely bar and lounge area and a fun video screen of a roaring fire, which in Amsterdam always warms you up. The staff are all friendly and helpful, bar tender makes great drinks and the food in the intimate restaurant, Londen is excellent. This place will definitely please you if you have an eye for smart design and great details, the bathrooms are fresh and well laid out, all the hallways are bright and quiet and the beds are really comfy with fine linens. I will definitely return here...hopefully soon!

Room Tip: 216 for singles or any 16 room, faces a lovely courtyard and is very quiet. There are rooms in 800...

Really excellent boutique hotel. Rooms are modern, everything is very clean and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. It's location also is a winner. Close to the city center yet quiet, close to the museum quarter,...Good value for money and we would definitely go there again on our next trip to Amsterdam.

A small, intimate and personable property, not a chain. Attractive, contemporary design. Paid EUR 150 for a room which i think was a good deal for this kind of hotel. When I asked for another room (top floor rooms have small windows) I was shown to other ones by the friendly lady at reception to choose from. That's customer service.

Free coffee, tea and wifi is a good touch.

Still some teething problems (property is new)- the light sensor in the bathroom is not very practical if you get up in the middle of the night as you have to wait 5 mins for the light to go off. The solution is to remove the key card from the electricity mains and the problem is solved (reception told me they are replacing the sensors with old-fashioned switches...).

Location is good- several trams and walking distance to the Pijp area and Utrechtsestraat which are less touristy but attractive areas.
