We took Trip Advisor's advice and booked two nights in Amsterdam at Mirjam's Little Amstel Boathouse B & B during the second week of our month long European trip. It sounded romantic and unique and it was everything we hoped for. Although we got a little confused in finding the location some kind local help got us there. Mirjam made it easy for us to get into our room and settle in. The standard room that we purchased was small but very comfortable. That is to be expected on a houseboat. We were greeted by the "locals" upon our arrival. By "locals" I mean the variety of ducks just outside our window. They greeted us every morning for their share of breakfast that was amply provided by Mirjam. We really enjoyed the show as we fed them our leftover bread. We slept well in a comfortable bed and awoke to the cacophony of the "locals". There are markets nearby and well as a Metro. All in all it was a great experience and we highly recommend the Little Amstel.

BEAUTIFUL!!! The room is small but SO nice and very clean!!! and it does not matter that it is small because you have the most beautiful view of the canal:):) just amazing! Also, breakfast is fantastic! a huge spread and you eat it in front of the beautiful views. The walk to the center of the city is so lovely and you really are close to everything. The area is very quiet as well. Mirjam is very good with communications (from the time you book and speak with her via email to the time you check out!) and bring the breakfast right to your door. Absolutely fantastic stay!!

I didn't know house-boat until my trip in Holland..when I arrived on Torontobrug bridge I didn't understand that my girlfriend had booked a house-boat for our trip but..when we entered in the room we didn't believe it!the view is fantastique and the room was so small, clean and original in each particular! We expected to know Miriam but she's out of Holland (her Mum is however so nice and kind with us)!the Little Amstel is not in the center of the city but it's in a place so quiet and easily accessible with pubblic transport..We think that this is the better way to spend an holiday in Amsterdam for the angaged couple!

We were looking for a hotel room and finding many booked at the time of our visit we looked for alternatives. From the time we booked Little Amstel to the day we left we had great communication with the owner Mirjam who is a sweetheart. It was exactly as pictured on the inside - we stayed in the suite which was tons of room for just the two of us but we enjoyed having the space and it was nicely decorated. Mirjam and her boyfriend took turns delivering our breakfast which was delicious and one day we ate the rest of it along with a bottle of wine for our dinner. The only drawback is that if you are a light sleeper you might find the traffic noise on the bridge next door too much. We stayed Fri, Sat and Sun nights and Fri was the worst. I am a heavy sleeper and had no problem with the bedroom door shut but my husband is a light sleeper and it took until Sun night when it was quieter for him to have a good night sleep. Despite the noise, it is fun, comfortable and in a decent location relative to the city and sights (only two blocks to the nearest tram station and walking distance to the Rembrandt Museum)

We stayed here for one night and loved it. The deluxe room was comfortable and spacious - lovely eating area and views over the Amstel. Mirjam was very helpful and delivered a lovely breakfast to our door. Lovely walks into the centre from the boat. Very very comfortable bed!
