“Bistro Pub”
Reviewed 25 March 2014

A 'brown pub' with lots of atmosphere and a great choice of beer although wine is available too. We found the service friendly and the locals made us feel really welcome and were soon engaging us in conversation.
The menu is fairly limited - fish, steak and salads but there is sufficient choice. The starters are huge and we shared a salad and bread basket - we were glad we did as it would have been too much for one person.
We visited twice and it was a couple of minutes from the Arthur Fromer hotel. They do lunch too.

“Didn't even make it to lunch”
Reviewed 16 March 2014

Can't say anything about the food here, because we were treated badly even before we found a place to sit.
As with all similar places in town when you're looking for a place to lunch, we came in, had a look around and saw that there were emtpy seats upstairs. But we didn't even get a chance to get up there, because the man serving there was apparently offended that we didn't say 'hi' or something. He acted totally weird and made us feel totally unwelcome, so we left.
We will never go there again.

“A Very Warm Welcome Without a Reservation”
Reviewed 6 March 2014

Having just checked in at the Mercure Hotel just around the corner, the hotel staff recommended the Myrabelle for dinner. It was an excellent choice. We were offered a nice fairly private table just around the corner from the bar and the special that night was sole with fries. The welcome, food and service from the two waiters was excellent and we felt really at home, which was important on our first night in Amsterdam. Naturally we went there again during our week's stay in Amsterdam.

“Good place for pubfood”
Reviewed 3 January 2014 via mobile

We ended up hete for drinks after a visit to the 'rijksmuseum'. Nice pub with decent choice of beers. Menu was basic but enough options. I had spareribs and these were very tender.

“A great bar”
Reviewed 20 December 2013

We first came here on our last trip and enjoyed it very much. It's small but charming and really looks like a traditional bar. We came for lunch after trawling the streets doing Christmas
Shopping (in fact we visited twice this trip) . There is a limited lunch menu but all is freshly prepared, over our couple of visits we tried the toad ties, fresh sandwiches - the fillings were generous and fresh , the Serrano ham and Dutch blue cheese, the tuna and the rare beef with truffle dressing all fab, we sampled the bitterballen too. Stephanie was great, charming and gave great service. A minor point was the 'laughing chef' who always seemed to be around and could be a bit annoying , on our first visit it was funny but on our second it was a trend so if this is normal as a regular you may be put off a little.
Don't be put off though the food is great and good value.
