The #1 Canal Cruise – Gray Line
This was the best ‘attraction’ I experienced in Amsterdam. (Aside from strolling through the Red Light District & coffee shops). Good way to spend a half day there. They accepted the City Pass.
The tour itself was a good experience; there were headphones that played narration for the various landmarks in various languages. It gives one at least a basic sense of the lay of the land and a corresponding historical perspective. Good value for the money, the time, and I would do another canal tour if I was in Amsterdam.

Last sunday we had a tour with Amsterdam Gray Line. When passing the Central Station our boat deliberately almost hit a vessel in distress waiting for the crossing ferries. A small vessel coming to the rescue was really hit. Our captain just sailed away...I was amazed, but even more when I smelled liquor when passing him leaving the boat. Never again.

We think there might be better ones out there.

This was very dull.

Minimal commentary on what was around us. Commentary rotated through 2 languages but had long breaks between anything being said (ie very little was said about what was around us).

Windows weren't clean so we couldn't take photos.

It was not money well spent.
Could've done better.

Disappointed. We'd suggest looking elsewhere for a cruise of the canals.

Also it wasn't organised too well. We were told where to queue for the boat. We ended up in a mix of other people. The captain then got angry because we weren't part of a group that was there, when there was no one to keep non group customers separate. That didn't help.

This is a canal ride through the canals of Amsterdam, which are absolutely stunning. They do offer you headphones with an option to listen to the commentary in your own language, which was great....as long as your headphones are working!!! Also very relaxing and you don't realise how relaxing until you fall asleep! lol.

We had the whole boat and did the hour long cruise. Everyone was provided with headphones which plug in for narration through the tour. Some worked better than others! Some of the windows steamed up through the tour so it was impossible to take pictures. Nice route and the kids enjoyed the tour.
