The Art Bed and Breakfast is well situated but we did not enjoy our stay. Our impression in short: The Art Bed and Breakfast is more a self-serve hostel with sloppy/no service for a price of a hotel.
It started with the check-in. The keys to our room could not be found. The staff, who was welcoming us, seemed unable to resolve the matter and only after our suggestions about the whereabouts of the keys and a common search, the keys reappeared.
Once in the room, it was quite apparent that it had not been cleaned, especially the floor, and the sheets had not been changed. Luckily, by the time we came back from downtown Amsterdam, we had fresh sheets on our beds but the floor still had all its signs of the former tenants.
At the sight of the bathroom, we did not really feel like taking our shower. Quite frankly, the shower floor was dirty, the toilet bowl not cleaned (pee-stains were enough evidence) and the sink had seen better days. The staff didn’t mind and took their shower there anyways.
On our second day the toilet broke and could only partly be fixed, meaning that absolutely no toilet paper could be flushed. Instead a tiny bin served as receptacle, which was only emptied after two days and after we reminded the staff.
We also needed to remind the staff that breakfast was included in the price. But twice, they forgot to provide breakfast supplies.
Although the B&B states, that it is a non-smoking environment, there seemed to be an exception for the owners. They spent three out of our four days stay in the B&B/art gallery smoking with the result that our room smelled like an overfull ashtray.

Stumbled upon this bed and breakfast while doing my research for my accommodation at Amsterdam on this spring 2012. Overall, everything is really clean and neat. It was a great experience to stay in an art gallery. As a Industrial Design Graduated student, I'm excited to see all the painting and 3D models. It's really cool and beautiful!!!

The kitchen is small but it is complete with everything needed. They provides coffee bean and coffee machine too.

There is a backyard. From there, you can see amazing and beautiful view.

I have shared my experiences and photos on my blog.

Thanks ABB.

Room Tip: Either room is okay. Although the B&B facing the main road but it is not really busy during day...

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Audrey Room for 2 nights. The place is fantastic, about 15, 10 minutes away from the centre and just 5 minutes from Museumplein. The gallery where the rooms are located is very beautiful, clean and fairly easy to find. The check in was also very easy since they have a safe for the key outside the door.

The room we stayed at was brilliant. Yes, it is fairly small at 5x5 but the space was fine for me and my boyfriend and the bed was easily the most comfortable one I have ever slept in. However we only stayed for 2 nights and didn't spend much time in your room. If you plan on doing that (I'm not sure why anyone would) then this is probably not the room for you. Having said that, they have two other larger options if you are willing to pay. The breakfast was tasty.

There are however a couple of things which I believe could be improved, most of these are probably because the b&b opened recently. The room gets very noisy in the morning, since it's just outside the kitchen. It would also have been nice to get some kind of information on arrival, for example we had no idea what the wi-fi password was. A sheet with these small details and a contact number wouldn't have gone amiss. I didn't manage to figure out how to work the coffee machine in the morning, some instructions above it would have been appreciated. The back of the gallery is also quite messy when it could be a lovely area to hang out if it was tidy.

The one thing that was more problematic was that most of the time there is nobody in the gallery. This was an issue when we were checking out and couldn't pay or get hold of anyone to come and collect the cash. It would have been really good to have the information on when the staff would be unavailable. I also don't think is much to ask to have someone there for the check out and to receive the payment.

These are however, small details which I believe will be ironed out fairly quickly. Other than that, the place is a gem, very pleasant and if I'm ever back in Amsterdam I would most definitely return.
