“So Romantic!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 February 2013

This hotel is beautiful. If you are lucky enough to make your budget stretch then I would highly recommend a suite (406 - has a downstairs bathroom with 2 person jacuzzi). The staff are ridiculously helpful and it has a really individual feel of luxury & splendour. If you can't have a good time with your partner here then I don't know where you can!!! Everything most people would want to do in Amsterdam is within walking distance. Thanks to everyone who made our trip so memorable, we are definitely coming back next year!

Room Tip: If you can, book suite 406

Trip to Amsterdam was an Xmas present / romantic weekend, with my partner, and I chose this hotel as I wanted something special as a treat. The Toren, did not let us down, brilliant welcome, excellent helpful front desk staff and help with luggage. The hotel is a canal house, which has been decorated in a dramatically luxurious style, our room was one of the smaller ones but had rich quality furnishing and everything you need for a romantic weekend. Really set the tone for exploring Amsterdam. The hotel is in a great location, as it is on one of the main canals, is near major visitor attractions, the 9 shopping streets and a lovely local market. Welcoming cafes and restaurants to suit many tastes close by. Only a tiny tiny issue to be aware of that not all of the rooms are in the main hotel building, our room was a couple of doors along the canal. There is also a benefit though as this building (still decorated in the same style and feels very much a part of the main hotel) was very quite.
Overall, we loved it, created the right mood from the moment we stepped into the hotel.

Room Tip: I would recommend talking to the hotel about the choice of rooms, they have different styles at diff...

It has been almost a year since I stayed here but I wanted to make sure I gave them credit where credit is due. This was the last stop on our honeymoon adventure. Completely boutique and Amsterdam romantic.
The staff at The Toren was always very helpful and willing to answer our questions. Our room was always spotless. It was what we wanted from a hotel while staying in Amsterdam on our honeymoon. The room was mostly purple with velvety textures. This sounds somewhat cheap and cheesy but it was designed so well that it worked (see pictures). It was perfect. The jacuzzi in our room had lights that changed colors, there were switches on the wall that drew the curtains around the bed and changed the colors of the lights in the room. Magical.
The location of the hotel was perfect. Close enough to everything that a walk or a short bike ride was all we needed but far enough from the riff raff that we could hang out around the hotel without running into tons of tourist seeking out the red light district (I'm not saying we didn't walk down to the red light at least once).
I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else while in Amsterdam. Great job Toren!

Room Tip: Choose one that faces the canal for a great view.

We had a fantastic time here, we were travelling fairly light so we were able to walk here from the Central Station in about 15 minutes, but it's also close to the Westermarkt tram stop and the Blue and Green lines of the Canal bus, both of which we found very useful.

Our room was in the second building, a few doors down from the main building which was no problem as the helpful staff were able to promptly bring over anything we needed.
The room itself was excellent, very nicely decorated, well equipped and with both a large shower and a double Jacuzzi bath.

The location was ideal for what we wanted, with lots of nice restaurants and bars in the Jordaan (the staff on reception were able to recommend plenty of places to try) and lots of interesting shops to look around. The good transport links made it easy to get around the city to see all the main attractions and although the hotel was on a nice quiet stretch of canal, the busier areas around Dam Square were within easy reach.

Altogether it made for a very pleasant hotel for a city break that I would definitely recommend and stay at again.

Room Tip: Ask for a double room with a Jacuzzi bath - really appreciated after a day out exploring the city.

We stayed in the canal view suite and it was everything that it stated and more. It was more expensive than we we normally pay but as it was our anniversary we wanted something a bit more special, we were not let down. The rooms and staff are second to none, decor is amazing. The whirlpool jacuzzi was out of this world and could comfortably accomodate the two of us (we are not small people either). Breakfast was perfect and we were more than spoilt for choice with the variety. Location is brilliant and less than a 5 minute walk to the Anne Frank museum, and no more that 10 minutes walk to other attractions. Would definatley 100% recommend this hotel. The only negative was that a 5 minute phonecall from the room to U.K cost €25.

The Hotel was easy to find and was location perfect. We had a late check-in but the staff were really welcoming & able to assist us in everything from bike hire to dinner reservations. As it was my finacee's 30th birthday & the trip was a surprise they offered us a room upgrade to a room with canal side view, jacuzzi bath & a bottle of Moët. A perfect start to our holiday. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very decadent, almost a shame to leave them through the day! They have a lovely breakfast area & bar complete with chandelier, you really are made to feel like royalty. I have nothing negative to say about the hotel as it well exceeded my expectations. We will return again soon. So a BIG thank you to The Toren & it's staff for a very memorable stay from us both.

The staff of The Toren are superb, the rooms and decor are what you would expect from a 5* hotel. I cannot recommend it highly enough. They do have rooms in a separate building, three doors down where I stayed, but you barely notice the distance as the lush decor is in both places.
