Without a doubt, the best city hotel we have ever stayed at. The Toren has been so beautifully decorated in a Moulin Rouge type feel and the staff were very knowledgable, helpful and friendly - they really know how to look after you and they went out of their way to make you feel welcome (but not in an overbearing type way).

The location was very good - right in front of a canal, around the corner from Anne Frank House and about an 8 min walk to Dam Square.

We had a standard double room, bit still had plenty of room with the most comfortable bed ever and loads of pillows to sink into. The bathroom was big with a massive shower head and the complimentary bathroom items smelled divine.

They don't have a restaurant, but they do partner up with a local award-winning restaurant to serve breakfast or if you want to eat dinner at the hotel or in your room. Ask for the list of recommended restaurants as well, we took a local Dutch recommendation from the list (De Leewte, I think it was called?) and they booked our table for us as it was a busy Saturday night. We weren't disappointed there either. Don't pass on the cocktail list from the hotel bar - they are made with care and tasted fantastic. The barmen really know their stuff!

I really can't find a fault with The Toren, I loved it so much and will definitely be coming back.

As travelers to Amsterdam know, hotels tend to be pricey and you don't always get quality or comfort (or courteousness) for your money. This has often been the case whenever we have taken a getaway weekend in Amsterdam. Thankfully Toren was different.

The Toren's location is perfect--on a quiet part of a canal street, in easy walking distance of attractions or tram stops.

We were so pleasantly surprised by the appearance of the hotel. Situated in an old canal house, the decor is baroque. A bit over the top in some parts, but the overall effect is far more luxurious and visually satisfying than the concept-less, bare bones style of many other places we've stayed. The standard double room was a bit small, as most hotel rooms in Amsterdam tend to be, but it was SO comfortable! A complimentary in room Nespresso machine was the perfect amenity after a day of walking the city. The bed was so comfortable to cuddle up in that one afternoon after being caught in the rain we came back to change and got so comfortable that we cuddled up, ordered room service, and watched a movie instead. The bathroom was new, modern, immaculate.

Above and beyond that, the staff were friendly and courteous--also not typical in Amsterdam. They even surprised us one day with a chilled bottle of champagne, and martini glasses filled with chocolates and strawberries.

We will definitely be staying at the Toren on our future trips to Amsterdam. I can't recommend it highly enough.

The location is fantastic if you want to be in a quiet area within walking distance of the main areas. The hotel is great for a european city centre hotel, staff very helpful, rooms are the small size you get in europe but the rooms in the annex (the 'other' building which is about 20 meters from the main hotel building) are a bit larger. There are several veeery good restaurants within 5-10 minutes walk.

we spent 4 days /3 nights at the toren hotel this summer me, my husband, our 6 years old daughter and our 17 month kid, the hotel is very close to central train station it cost us 10 euro for taxi , the decoration is really fantatsic , very fast check in , the hotel staff are very helpful , the hotel is divided between 2 buildings we were niot staued in th emain building, our triple room has a very resonable space , they provided cot for free as well , th ebeds are comfy , though the bathroom was small but it was spotless and clean , thr room has a nice view over the canal and the hotel was with a walking distance to all main sites , I defenitely recommend it for all travellers and cannot wait to stay here again

Ahhh...this hotel - i am getting goose bumps when i remember Toren...the hotel is soo cozy, "old style luxury hotel"...definitely THE BEST BED I TRIED IN MY LIFE...the soft pillows...great bar...great bathroom..Toren is a bit pricey but it's great value for your money..

There is just 1 bad thing about this hotel, actually the room we stayed in - it was extremely small so my advice is: BOOK THE DELUXE ROOM! next time i'm in Amsterdam - i know i definitly will..

Would definitely recommend to anyone (maybe not to a family with children)..enjoy !

The Toren is the only hotel you need to know if you are staying in Amsterdam! It is centrally located, overlooking one of the many canals. It consists of two beautiful buildings on Keizersgracht. My wife, two young kids and I spent 5 nights / 6 days at the Toren. Everybody we dealt with, were extremely helpful, courteous, polite, efficient and most of all, warm and friendly - from the cleaning staff to the owners. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the whole hotel is totally different from the bland, clinical norm. Service was top class. Food was fantastic, all at value for money. I really mean it when I say my wife and 2 children, aged 5 and 1, would simply not consider anywhere else in Amsterdam. It is a rare place that combines top class professional service, with charm and warmth. We will return to The Toren very soon!
