Reviewed 28 August 2010

wow, where do i begin...ive stayed in amsterdanm 6 times and this was by far, the worst hotel that "IVE EVER STAYED AT"...Staff was horrendous, they made you feel weird for askin'for any simple request (paper for the printer, milk for coffee etc:)No elevator just 1 single lift big enough for 2...NO HELP WITH BAGS just them stareing at you!....Breakfast was not that great, plus it was downstrairs you felt like you were eating in a basement..no good morning, hello;just whats your room number...bottom line was that this is not a 4 star, nor a pleasant hotel by any means...and to top all that off, there were "some kind" of bugs in my room...Every mornin'I would wake w/little bites n my hand and feet..Just a horrible stay in my favorite city

:they made me so uncomfortable that i couldnt wait for my stay to end:

We were very pleased with our stay at the
Bilderberg Hotel. The room was small but very clean, bright and comfortable. The space was efficiently designed. The bed was comfortable, bathroom was bright and clean and the water was hot with good water pressure. The staff was very friendly and provided assistance regarding travel routes and tourist activity. We didn't try the breakfast as it was very pricey. However, there were good sidewalk cafes close by. One of the best things about the Bilderberg is the location ...very close to the museums and parks. We highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Amsterdam.

We stayed at the Bilderberg Hotel for a weekend with another couple. We choose this hotel on recommendation from a friend and were not disappointed.

This was our 3rd trip to Amsterdam, last time we stayed at the Bilderberg Garden Hotel which was equally as nice.

This hotel can be expensive and I would not book it unless you can get it at a reasonable rate, we paid 200 Euros for 2 nights and it was well worth the money.

The hotel itself is in a fantastic location on a quiet road leading off from a designer shopping street. It is right next to the Vondelpark and the Leidespein area where there are fantastic bars and restaurants and lots of street entertainers. We also went to 2 fab restaurants there - Meyer (Indian Cuisine) best indian meal Ive ever had and Gaucho, lovely steak restaurant.

The hotel although not very big is very elegantly presented and has a good atmosphere. It has a quaint charm about it in a quiet and small understated way. The bar area is lovely to sit in and have drinks and so too is the terrace area.

We had breakfast 1 of the mornings and it was really nice, 14 Euros, but you could eat and drink all you wanted. Amsterdam is quite pricy, the other morning we ate at a small bar/cafe and had a full english. By the time we had bought drinks (juice and tea) and tipped etc it was more expensive than the hotel anyhow.

Our room was very modern and clean. It offered everything we needed but was on the small side. Most of our time in Amsterdam was in bars and restaurants to be fair and not in our room so it was more than adequate.

Overall, I would say that the location, atmosphere and charm of the hotel makes this an excellent choice for a weekend break in Amsterdam. I would highly recommend and would definately stay here again.

If you are going to Amersterdam and want to see the INCREDABLE museums (that are one block away) ride the canals, and stay in a very quiet location just far enough from the crowds of party goers STAY HERE!

We just got back from staying at this WONDERFUL HOTEL that really had everything that you would want or need. We checked and and met a very pleasent and very helpful desk clerk named Marie.
He upgraded our room, and showed us the best places to eat, and even booked our tickets to the museums YOU MUST DO THIS TO AVOID THE LINES at the museums!!! You can then walk right pass the long lines outside and into the exibits. No standing outside! I have no idea why so many stand in lines...Go to the Van Goug on Friday evenings and get the audio tours. Everyone was very nice and helpful and the room was very comfortable and quiet.
Get the breakfast for 15EU (it was very good) get the hop on off canal boat for getting around (much better than the trolleys) that you can book at the museum.

As a suprise 30th birthday present for my husband, we travelled to Amsterdam for a long weekend. I found this hotel via Expedia, we were very pleasantly suprised at how lovely the hotel was, reception were really friendly and helpful. Our room, although only a standard had plenty of space and light from a large window overlooking roof tops. The area around the hotel is quiet, but only a 5 minute walk from the lovely Vondelpark and near by cafes, bars and fantastic restaurants. We opted out of the hotel's breakfast, partly due to 19 euros seeming rather pricey, but also as there are so many lovely cafes near by. We would definately stay here again if we are lucky enough to come to back to this amazing city.

This Hotel is in a nice location away from the main centre, about a 30 min walk from Central Station and just mins away from Vondel park and Van goff museum. The hotel is off average standard, our room tho was very small and a lick of paint would not go a miss in the hall ways.Breakfast was small and limited but just about did the job,in all for a few nights stay in Amsterdam not bad, looking around the center im sure there is worse.

As we arrived at the Bilderberg on Jan Luykenstraat, I was greeted by the warm welcome of Marijke, the front desk duty manager. Later that evening, we stopped at the lounge and she even gave us a very knowledge-filled tutorial on fine wines! The staff is what made this experience one of the most pleasant that I have ever had. They were very helpful and attended to our every need. With the professional attitude and hospitality extended by outstanding employees, like Marijke, you can count on us returning to the Bilderberg soon!
