I had high expectations from Estherea and they were all beautifully met with style. This compact hotel certainally pays great attention to detail and provides some unique finishing touches. The rooms are individually colour themed and are comfortable and elegant.. The breakfast is buffet style and is excellent, served on beautiful blue and white china with a wide variety of items which was kept constantly topped up. All the staff where helpful and attentive even the hotel cat which made a guest appearance this delighted my daughter! The hotel has a relaxing ambience and I always looked forward to retiring to a cup of free coffee after a day of sightseeing. Will definitely return.

The reviews of this hotel were solid but it surpassed my expectations. Estherea is located about 20 minutes by from the central station and can also be reached by taking tram lines 1 and 5. It is located on one of the nicest canals in Amsterdam very near shops, cafe's, restaurants and tourist sites. The reception staff was very friendly and efficient. My room (114) had a superb view of the "Singel" canal while at the same time being quiet at night. The bathroom was large with good working shower and sink and ample supply of soap, champoo etc. All aspects of the room were in great shape without any scratches, stains, etc. The bed was comfortable with good quality cotton sheets. Breakfast was ample with a great variety of cold and hot dishes, fruits, breads, drinks, etc and the setting, perhaps not everyones taste, was nice and clean with very good service. The reception staff is eager to provide guidance and to help where necessary and bikes and scooters can be rented. Wifi worked well for me and there are 2 computers near the reception area. The is not a big chain type hotel but more like a well managed boutique type place. It even has a small exercise room and coffee, tea and water as well as a variety of cookies are offered free of charged during the day. I will certainly stay at the Estherea again the next time I have to be in Amsterdam - it was a pleasure!

Stayed at this hotel for a weekend with my wife.
We opted for the deluxe suite and WOW what an experience.
The room is very big and spacious with a very large chandelier and exquisite furniture and furnishings.
th lobby, recepton area and front rooms are also very spacious, well decorated and very comfortable to relax ad enjoy a drink or else have comlimnentary tea, coffee and cakes/biscuits.
The staff are extremely helpful and go out of their way to help
Breakfast is abundant and good quality with lots of variety.
All in all a FABULOUS 4 Star Boutique Hotel with 5 Star rooms and service.

We just returned from 10 days travel in Denmark for business and stopped in amsterdam to unwind.. Our three days at the Hotel Esterea was pure pleasure. Loved the decor, cheerful breakfast and very helpful staff. THe location afforded an easy walk to the 'Hop On Hop Off' canal boats. Easy walk to Dam square, Beguinehof and other sights. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the canal, not spacious but comfortable. Bed was comfortable, spacious bathroom and ample drawer space. Staff directed us to three excellent restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommend Casa di David. Restaurant in hotel serves full breakfast only. There is a lovely bar and coffee available 24/7 in the lobby. No coffee in room although there is a small fridge.

Room Tip: Ask for a canal facing room.

We chose this hotel as it had been recommended on Trip Advisor and it did not disappoint on any level. The hotel has a fantastic location on the Singel Canal close to many of the major attractions and is a very comfortable refuge after exploring Amsterdam's beautiful sights. The hotel is very attractive inside, the staff very helpful and friendly and the room we had, although not a canal view, was very well appointed. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the free hot beverage machine a very nice touch. The hotel has a cute cat too. The only downside was that the room was expensive, with prices going up for the weekend-supply and demand I suppose. One general tip is to arrive by train from the airport only 3.70 euros each and take tram 1,2 or 5 to Spui[just around the corner] rather than being ripped off by a 15 euro taxi fare from the Central Station!

Very nice hotel in a great location.
We had 9 nights booked and needed to cancel just 1 on the day prior to arrival...
No refund was given, the manager was hard and unwaivering. Not even a small gesture to make up for our loss.
