Excellently located in the historic area of the city and was well managed and well presented. The room was perfectly adequate - functional, not stylish, traditional without looking too tired. The beds were on the softer side. There was plenty of space in the room. Hot water in the shower/bath was moderate - I'd describe it as averagely warm, not hot (strangely similar to another hotel we stayed in Den Haag). The room was very clean, although there was a bleach stain on the carpet.
The food in the 'Cafe Americain' was really good and we enjoyed a lovely meal there. We didn't take breakfast, so can't comment on that. Spicy nuts served in the bar were a real treat.
One quibble. We travelled as a couple but nowhere did I indicate I was travelling with a female, so I was a bit disappointed to receive paperwork addressed to Mr and Mrs Allen - even when we were both at the desk checking out. Sloppy, lazy and avoidable administration in a country known for its progressive and inclusive attitudes, but I don't think it was intended to offend me.
We would stay again.More
