We stayed here for a stag do in early February. There were around 20 of us who ended up staying 4 in a room with 2 per queen size bed. We still aren't 100% sure whether the best man messed up or if there was some sort of confusion. While slightly cramped the beds were very comfortable and the rooms very large. We had breakfast included which was very nice and much needed a couple of mornings. There are a few bars and restaurants surrounding the hotel but the main square is just a 15 minute walk down the main road opposite the main entrance.

Dear Guest,
We were happy to welcome you and your group to the Marriott for a special weekend in Amsterdam. Our extensive breakfast in the Midtown Grill is great way to start your day before exploring the city, and the extended hours in the weekend (until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday and until 12:00 on Sundays) makes it extra convenient for those enjoying the night life Amsterdam has to offer. Thank you again for your review and hope to see you again soon at the Marriott.

Kind regards,

Let me start by saying that yes the property is bit aged. That doesn't meant its dirty or unkempt. Its actually a very nicely maintained property.

The hotel is located in a very central location and is very convenient.

The service we received was excellent. We were here for our honeymoon. My wife an I were discussing our wedding the previous day. Unbeknownst to us the front desk clerk over heard our discussion. So about 5 minutes after entering our room there was a knock at our door and room service with chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne. In addition a nice note from the property general manager. (I wish I remembered the name)

When we wanted to rent scooters to ride around Amsterdam the staff gave us very good references and we found a great spot.

Our room was fabulous. In the past European travel meant slightly cramped rooms. At the Marriott we booked a suite and it was amazing. Gigantic and with a view over the city. It was just amazing.

Last but not least is the restaurant. I had one of the best steaks I've ever had at that spot. Amsterdam isnt known for the cuisine. So it was super nice to be able to have a great filet.

This exec lounge was one of the best we have experienced in Marriott Hotels - they even offered fresh oysters!

The staff were both charming and helpful. We were in an executive room and had the option of using the Executive Lounge for a complimentary breakfast and drinks and snacks in the evenings. Worth upgrading for. The Internet system. We had problems with it which was not addressed by the manager on duty. It was free, being in an executive room, but it was not trouble free. The business centre is a stool with a computer in a corner!

During our many trips to Amsterdam we have always stayed at the NH hotels, but they were just OK if you are just going to sleep and shower and spend all your time outside. I often passed the Marriott and it seemed to be a very well located, popular hotel so we decided to give it a try this time. At the price of almost 300 Euro's a night we expected a very nice room and good service. The Room was plain & ordinary, bathroom was plain & ordinary, & none of the staff even attempted to be friendly. The price of internet in room is the most outrageously priced that we have encountered anywhere in the world. Brace yourself for the price. It's 6.95 EURO's an HOUR!!!! Yes, for in room internet, shocking!
What this hotel does have is location, location, location.

Dear Guest,
We were delighted to hear that after your many visits to Amsterdam that you decided to stay with us at the Marriott and that you truly enjoyed the location of the hotel. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the rooms and regret to hear that pricing of the internet was not clear. In our great room lobby area, restaurants and bar, we provide complimentary internet; and in our guest rooms we offer 3 different plans: the economy plan for €6.95 for 24 hours, or you can upgrade to the business plan for either €6.95 per hour or €19.95 for 24 hours. We hope by providing different options that we can meet the needs of all our guests. We look forward to the possibility of welcoming you back to the Marriott on your next visit to Amsterdam.

Kind regards,
