The hotel is situated in a beautiful historic location in Amsterdam Centre, The rooms are pretty standard but nice and spotless. The bed was extremely comfortable, loved the mattress.
The hotel reception however was not flawless. They charged my personal credit card while I clearly stated at check-in and at check-out that the bill would be covered by the company I work for (and who had made my reservation).

This is a big, modern hotel in an old historic dam building within an easy walk from Central Station. It definitely caters to business people (it's owned by Marriott) and has the minibars and business centers to serve that market. The staff was absolutely lovely and helpful, and I enjoyed being able to get museum tickets at the concierge's desk. The main restaurant and bar are very hotel-like, but there's an adjacent cafe in the hotel that actually feels authentically Dutch. Although it's definitely a chain hotel, there are touches of charm.

The room was comfortable, clean and very modern.

The neighborhood, while touristy, is very convenient and walkable to many great attractions.

I did ask the best way to get to the airport, and the concierge suggested a $50 Euro cab as opposed to a very nearby and cheaper train, but that seems to be a Marriott thing. Also, things that are free at less slick hotels (like WiFi) often cost money, but you just need to be aware of that.

Great hotel location. Within walking distance of Centraal station, but removed from its hurried pace. Built on a quiet street across many old houses and a church, which is now the hotel's conference center. The location is also very good for exploring the central canal area downtown. The rooms were very large and the beds were magnificient. The in-room technology is very good, albeit a bit expensive for internet access for non Marriott elite members. The on site restaurant is good, especially for breakfast, but rather expensive. Skip the lobby bar and head across the street to the cafe or to the attached Koppel Bar. The conference facilities are top notch and the staff was very helpful in setting up the meeting. A great hotel in Old Amsterdam for business mixed with leisure.

We all very much enjoyed this hotel. It is a couple of blocks from Centraal Station, the concierge is very helpful, the hotel is clean and modern. It is a bit pricey but the amentities more than make up for it.

Have stayed in many, many hotels and have never experienced such a warm welcome from reception to the concierge who had a refreshing sense of humor. Room large with two big, comfortable beds within. Bathroom great. Access to the train station is excellent which we needed for an early departure. Arrived for check in early and absolutely no hassles to get access to the room immediately. Room phone did not work and someone was there within 5 minutes. Housekeeping kept the warm greetings flowing through our stay.
The only glitch was in relation to the hotels capacity to manage diet requests. I had made my diet requests known the day prior for breakfast and was advised these would be met. Upon arrival I had to ask for the gluten/lactose free foods. I was given two slices of gluten free bread readily defrosted in the ,microwave and a small glass of milk. Compared to all the other customers I felt like I was on rations. This was the only unsatisfactory element of our stay.

My partner and I stayed in this hotel for a weekend break in Amsterdam. We didn't eat in the hotel (only because we were out and about most of the time) so can't comment about the food. However, the reception service was very good. Our room (144) was right next to the street and a bit noisier than we would have liked so I asked Reception to move us. They were very helpful and within minutes we were placed in a much quieter room (339) and had two undisturbed nights sleep.

If you are staying here and want a quiet room, I recommend you try to get a room facing away from the street. Although the hotel is in a fairly quiet area, go for a quiet room and a good night's sleep to make the best of your days there.

Top attractions for us were: Van Gogh museum, Anne Frank house and the Keukenhof gardens.
