This hotel had some of the best staff I have ever experienced. Casper, hope I spelt it correctly, was the epitome of warm, welcoming, friendly and helpful. He offered my boyfriend and I personalized advice on what to do in the city during our stay and what time to visit the sites to avoid crowds. I truly can not say enough about how he enhanced our stay for us. Apart from that, the hotel itself and our room were very clean. The club lounge is great with excellent choices for breakfast, afternoon snacks and happy hour. Definitely take advantage of it. The location does not really get much better with everything being walking distance nearby. Yet the area was quiet at night, even considering there was some construction going on in the street directly in front of the hotel. Superb stay and would definitely recommend it.

I can't say enough about the great service at this hotel. Kit at check in showed patience and undstanding and did his best by resolving a messed up reservation. He is a credit to the hotel and started off my three days there on such a bright note, I will most certainly be back. The location is great as well; an easy walk from the Central Station and close to many attractions. In addition, Kip offered suggestions on places to visit, restaurants, and what can be found close to the hotel of interest.

Who doesn't love a room with a comfy robe and slippers?!

As a world traveler for business the one very nice thing to say about the Marriott brand of hotels is the consistency of the properties from country-to-country. This Marriott brand was no exception. Very clean and large rooms (for a European hotel). Great A/C in the room which was great after a long day exploring the city. Check in process was quick and easy and the concierge staff was knowledgeable and helpful in recommending local restaurants. Probably the best part of the hotel is the staff working the "Club Level" lounge area throughout the day. Extremely friendly and helpful. A special thanks to "Diana" who when not knowing the answer to a question we asked, ran downstairs and came back with the answer and a map to show where we should go. Great personality by all the staff in the club lounge area. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Hotel is conveniently located a few blocks from the Centraal Train Station.

Nice that they gave us umbrellas for the day because it was raining.

This hotel was part of our package before a cruise, leaving from a port that required a transfer. The room was very nice and that part of the stay was very good. However, heck-in was a bit of a pain (also true of our visit to another property the last time we stayed in Amsterdam). The departure was a bit disorganized.

The Koepelcafé was a disaster. After ordering a draft beer (filled to only about 2/3 of a small glass, with a huge head), we were informed that they were out of most of the menu items. We had to leave and go across the street.

In contrast, the breakfast buffet was outstanding, even if pricey. Seating was easy, servers were pleasant, the selection was excellent and food was tasty.

We spent a weekend at this nice hotel mid July, starting our family trip in Europe. Staff at the front desk welcomed us very efficiently and in a friendly manner.
The hotel has a good location, although there is a major street repair going on. It can make the access to the building a bit uncomfortable. If you need to catch a train at the main station, it is a quick 10 minute walk.
The rooms were of good size, well maintained and cozy beds and pillows.
Only downside of this hotel is the bar attendant and his obnoxious attitude. We went there to watch the final Holland - Brazil worldcup match and did not enjoy his service. Food and drinks were very good, though. Would suggest a hotel customer service attendant to look into it.
