“Great location, extremely clean and staff very friendly and pleasant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 December 2013

I stayed here on business for the first time this week, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The staff in both the hotel and the restaurant were the friendliest i have ever come across and the restaurant food was nice quality. The bathroom was tiny though and if you have long legs you might struggle to sit down on the loo! Everything was scrupulously clean and this hotel is in a great position - I had the christmas market on the doorstep. I was also in a room at the back which was quiet, although you do hear some noise from other adjacent rooms' tvs etc. Breakfast is more than adequate with a good selection. I would consider returning for a leisure trip.

We stayed in a comfort room which had more space than we thought, although the bathroom was tiny and the shower was squashed in the corner and splashed everywhere! Close to most things was perfect location for us! Staff were really friendly aswell which was nice considering we come across alot of rude people in amsterdam. They also kept our bags for us all day as our flight was at night. Would defo stay here again! lovely hotel

Room Tip: We had a look at the superior rooms which were not too much bigger than the comfort room but the bat...

We thank you for your review . The good news was that you praised the friendliness of our staff.
The bad news that you came across a lot of rude people in Amsterdam. We are looking forward to welcoming you on another occasion

Fantastic stay!! Arrived at 10am and were allowed to check in immediately, room was great, clean and modern! All staff were very friendly offered maps and info on the area and sites to see! Hotel a 5 min walk from station and only short walk to most attractions! Located on dam square in a busy area but we were not kept awake by noise. We would definitely return here and recommend to anyone!

This hotel is perfect for anyone who loves to walk! Just off of Dam Platz, everything that we wanted to see or do was in walking distance! The staff were very pleasant and could help with tours, transportation and recommendations. We had a superior room with a balcony overlooking the square. It could be a little noisy because of the traffic but not enough to keep you awake. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was huge. We saw some of the standard rooms which were smaller but still very nice. It is an old hotel so the rooms are not identical and some of the standard rooms had tiny bathrooms, while others had huge bathrooms. I would suggest specifying at check in that you would like one of the rooms with a larger bathroom, if that is important to you.

We were pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Yes, our hotel is perfect for those who like to walk but also for all others as the trams to all main places of interest are stopping right in front of our door.
And as you described so well, our rooms and bathrooms come in all different shapes and sizes so talk or write us if you have a special request.

Yours sincerely

Rignt in the heart of the bustling and lively Amsterdam, this accommodation is the perfect option for travellers who want to experience a city on foot.

Less than a kilometer walk from the Amsterdam Centraal Train Station (approximately 13 minutes by train from Airport to Amsterdam Centraal) and a short walk to Canal Cruise operators and tne great Hop On/Hop Off tours which is a cheap way to see the main attractions of a city and a good way to get around.

Rooms are modern and nicely appointed however if you are a larger person, you will have difficulties in the shower room as it is very small. Otherwise, staff are friendly and you can (dependant on availability) ipgrade to a superior room for 30€ extra per night or a junior suite for 100€ extra per night.

WiFi is free and fast.

Plenty of dining options, washed down with the local Heineken, with an entree, main meal, dessert and a couple of beers for two setting you back around 70€

Your description is so complete that I can not make any addditional comments. As far as the showers are concerned, the size differs per room and our superior rooms also have a bath tub.
We were happy that you enjoyed your stay and hope you come and visit us in the future again
With best regards

This hotel is located in the middle of the Dam, very convenient to de shopping, red light districts, centraal station, tams and great places to eat. Room was comfortable and has a balcony over looking Damdrak. The room is fairly well insulted but you still feel the trams going by, it is loud even with the double pane windows. No real extras like shampoo, some stock soap in a squeeze bottle on the walls, and the toilet paper roll, made it seem like a Motel 6. Pretty tacky. No wash clothes provided, which is odd. Staff very nice, helpful, great pre purchase deals for canal tours and so forth. Breakfast buffet style is 15eu, and good. We stayed for a week but might cut that back to a few days and then stay off the main drag, too. Overall, enjoy your stay at this hotel.

We were pleased that you enjoyed your stay. As to the ammenities in the bathroom, or better said, the lack of it; we have a GreenKey Gold Label which dictates us to be very environmental friendly. That means no small bottles or other small items but squeeze bottlems and environmental friendly products. These products are still of a very high quality from a reputed company.

Stayed at this Hotel over the weekend and thought it was good.

The room was decently sized, basic, modern and well equipped with a TV (english channels too), kettle and tea/coffee facilities. The only draw back was most rooms face a narrow alleyway which amplified the noise of people stumbling about late at night.

The Hotel is excellently located on Damrak Straat, a short walk (6 minutes) from the Amsterdam Centraal Railway station and right next Dam Square, with many restaurants, take-aways and a small supermarket (similar to a Tesco Metro) next door.

It is very central to all the tourist locations such as the Red Light District, the famous "Coffee" shops and a few minutes walk to Anne Frank House and the Canal Tour Boats. It is actually in such a great location, it was quicker and easier to walk to most of the tourist things.

The staff were very friendly, helpful and polite, the room can be cleaned daily and towels changed every day by pushing a button by the door that says "make up room", I thought that was quite clever.

This hotel is a great base point to explore Amsterdam from. I would recommend it.

Room Tip: Try ask for a room near the top floor as they are quieter than the rooms nearer street level.

It is always a pleasure for us to hear that our guests enjoyed their stay with us. Yes, it is true that nearly all tourist attractions can easily be reached by foot. Amsterdam is not such a big city and we are in the middel of it.
We hope to see you again in the future
Yours sincerely
