My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel for 4 days. The room isn't one of the biggest I've seen, but it's lovely renovated. The breakfast is also good and the staff is very friendly. They have also a room with computers with free internet. The hotel is in the center of Amsterdam, just one minute to walk from the Dam Square. The position of the hotel is great, there are several restaurants and tousand of shops around.

Centrally located right next to the Dam Square. 10 minutes by foot to the Central train station, with lots of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, 5 minutes by walk to the Red Light district and a whole street of restaurants. Lots of shops, hotels, restaurants in the neighborhood. Amsterdam downtown is not very big, so you can easily get to those places by tram, or even by foot.

Hotel itself is not very big, with 4 floors. Being right next to the busy streets, we feared the noises might bother us, however there was no such problem. There was no noise from the streets at night. However, the floors and walls appear to be quite thin, we could hear our next-door neighbors at night. And someone actually was walking outside of our room at 2am in the morning, knocking on our door. I think it was a drunk lady. I suppose that could happen to anyone anywhere. That freaked me out a little.

Interior of the room was comfortable, but again the floor was a bit squeaky. TV remote control did not work, batteries had corroded and damaged the control I believe. We were too busy and tired to watch TV so did not bother reception for a change. Maybe the next visitor will. Bed was comfortable; in the room there were 2 small pillows, which we find to be too little and also too small and flat. Other than that, no complaints.

Staff were courteous and pleasant.

Overall a great and convenient experience. But because there are TONS of hotels in Amsterdam central, we would probably try a different one next time around. This is a great hotel, but nothing too special over the other choices that would have me back again and again.

It is with pleasure that I learend that you had a pleasant stay. I regret that a drunk lady knocked on your door at night. I apologize that the remote control did not work properly and will ask our housekeeper why this had not been checked as the procedure requires.
We look forward to welcoming you agian

Stayed here for a long weekend over my birthday. Booked directly with hotel website for a superior room and put note on booking that it was my birthday during our stay.
Had an early flight and checked into hotel at 11am got a free upgrade to one of the front suites with a balcony overlooking damrac. Room was ready so allowed us to go straight in.
Hotel was clean and room comfortable.
Heating was a little noisy at night but fully expected as it is a combo heater/aircon unit but overall still got a good night sleep. Could only hear traffic and trams if you listened really carefully with no tv on.
Room came with a mini bar we didn't use this but visited the shop next door. We did however use the fridge for our drinks which wasn't a problem.
Had great do not disturb button as it was electronic controlled from inside the room.
Never disturbed by maids even though was out of the room until at least mid-day. They were slightly noisy but can't say I have ever stayed at a hotel that hasn't has noisy maids.
Check out was pain free and they stored our bags until 4pm got out flight home.

Overall great stay and will defo book again when we return to Amsterdam.

We were happy that we contributed to your birthday with an upgrade to a suite. I will ask our Housekeeper to talk to the maids so that they have no discussions in front of the rooms.
I was pleased to learn that you enjoyed your stay

Really enjoyed our stay here around Christmas 2013. We were a short walk from the train station and in a great location. Shops close by, the Christmas Markets were on, and just on our door step! Lots of tasty food and drink most of the day and evening.
We were able to book the canal trip on one of the evenings (through the hotel) and it was great. We walked about 15 minutes and were right on the canal.
The room, although small, was warm, had good faciliaties and was clean. The staff were all really helpful and pleasant. Would stay there again if we found ourselves in Amsterdam.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room and you will get it. Ours was a corner room and really quiet and spacious.

The Wintermarket was certainly a great success and we were pleased that you enjoyed is as much as you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to your next visit but cannot guarantee that there will be a Wintermarket again next year as our authorities seem reluctant to grant a permission again.

Visited this hotel for a break for our honeymoon, the hotel was brilliantly placed for getting around Amsterdam, the bed was comfy and the room was immaculately clean and well presented. The shower wasn't great but for a large hotel it was more than adequate.

Our room was on the first floor and looked out over Damrak and onto Dam Square, there was no excessive noise as was quoted on some of the reviews I had read.

I hadn't visited the Dam for years but was pleasantly surprised at how clean and tidy it was kept, it puts London to shame!!

Would definitely visit this hotel again and would recommend to friends and family.

I was happy to learn that we contributed to a pleasant honeymoon journey and you enjoyed your stay. You stated that Amsterdam is cleaner than London. I just returned from a business trip to London but do not agree with you. In the areas I visited the London streets were also very clean.
We hope to welcome you again in the future

Yours sincerely

Just back from spending two nights here and was very impressed. The staff were friendly and accommodating allowing us to book in four hours early and looking after our bags after we'd checked out so we could see some final sites. Location is fantastic, literally a five minute walk from the Royal Palace and within easy walking range of other sites. The restaurant was pricey but worth it as the food was excellent and the service friendly and quick. The room was comfortable and clean and we could barely hear the trams outside.
