This hotell is in the very central of Amsterdam close to everything. Very clean, good breakfast, nice staff and flatscreen-TVs on the rooms. The Hotel Wifi is very fast and works really well. Not very common. Don't have anything to complain about, great stay !

When we first arrived I realized that the rate quoted on the phone was different than the one they actually gave us. Eventually this was sorted but it took a while.
The room was very nice and spacious and has everything you might need.
The service was quick and always with a smile.
The location is very good, we walked everywhere!!!
We booked a tour on our last day and had some trouble with that - sat and waited for over 30 minutes in the lobby and since the concierge didn't notice we were there ended up missing the tour they ended up sending us with a taxi driver to do a quick version of the tour for the same price.
So, all in all, I guess it was okay but I'm not sure I would go back there on the next trip...

We stayed one night on the 4th May 2012. We arrived early but were able to park in the secure underground car park while we had a walk around the streets of Amsterdam. The hotel staff advised us on where to eat lunch (we wanted a non-fast food type place) and gave us a street map with directions to two venues. The room was located on the other side of the street from reception (accessible by going down one floor and through a passageway with some lovely paintings in, then up again in the lift). Our room was 270 which didn't have a great view (alleyway!) but we didn't go to look out of the window so it didn't matter. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean and well equipped with mini bar and all the usual amenities. We enjoyed the nespresso machine which also came with the room. All the staff were lovely and the breakfast was top notch - something for everyone including some very healthy power grass shots!

Top tip: Eat in the restaurant - the food was amazing! Also, the bar was a very pleasant place for aperitifs.

Stayed in the Radisson Blu for 3 nights, centrally located, easy to walk from Central Station (about 10mins) and very close to restaurants and the red light district (though not too close) it was very quiet.

Room decor was a bit wild, bright orange, beaded curtains - but we liked it. Room was clean, bathroom was good, shower was fine. The only thing I would say is most of the rooms look inward (onto the reception area) so while you have a window you certainly don't have a view. Some rooms would look over the street/canal but I think the price difference is quite significant for this.

Bar was nice, great service, nice cocktails. All in all a great stay in a great city!

Ideally situated - within a few minutes walk of Dam Square, Nieuwmarkt, Waterlooplein and the trams on Rokin.
Room was superb - comfortable, spacious, good bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities, TV including BBC1 and 2 - and quiet. Although we were there on the Queen's Birthday Bank Holiday weekend, we could close the window and not hear a thing outside - and outside it was quite deafening on the evening of April 29.
Staff really quite outstanding - all of them. Friendly, helpful - nothing was too much for them.
Food excellent.
I would have given it 4.5 rather than 5 stars because our room (#516) was just slightly let down by the air conditioning not going down quite far enough. Whether this is general or just our room, I don't know. Since I didn't pursue it with the management, it would be unfair to drop the rating to 4. However, if you don't like the heat, it might be a point worth raising before you book
As for Amsterdam itself, it was quite delightful. I was very surprised by the comments below from "georgeandann", especially when they state that it's the worst city they've ever visited. I'm tempted to say that they can't have visited very many.
We took a trip by coach to Keukenhof Gardens - well worth it.
Everybody we came across in Holland spoke perfect English - putting some native English speakers to shame.
If you're thinking of visiting the Van Gogh Museum, note that my wife tried to get in on two separate occasions but gave up because of the queues. It might be worth finding out if you can buy tickets in advance.
Wonderful hotel, wonderful city.

Location: central and close to the main interesting points of the city
Rooms: pretty spacious, well cleaned, fully fornitured with all kind of optionals.
Services: free internet wifi (the real added value), nice gym, wonderful free sauna. Tv with many channels in all languages.
