This hotel is modern and clean but in an old building like most of Amsterdam. Inside it is nice, just like a typical Marriott but smaller. The breakfast buffet is very good. Small dining room with fresh hot and cold food. Outside, there is a red-painted "coffee house" just opposite which is really a modern day opium den where people smoke marijuana. Why the Dutch chose to legalize drugs is beyond me but a lot of European youth are drawn to it. If I went to Amsterdam again I would make a bee-line for a good Indonesian restaurant.I would avoid the restaurant on top of a shopping center that has a skyline view (unless going just for the view and a coffee). My burger there was raw and it was still raw when a second one was sent to me. I prefer sunshine and beaches nowadays but chilly Amsterdam was OK for a few days after a Viking River cruise from Budapest. I know people there and they took us to a good very old pub. Like much of Europe it has history. We did not get in to Anne Frank's house, The line was too long (and I don't think she was in anyway). The Radisson Blu is very central to the old town and you can do a lot of walking from there.

Room Tip: Not sure because most rooms have no view anyway. It does not matter.

We stayed at this hotel for a business/pleasure meeting. The location is perfect if you arrive and then walk the city. But getting there by car means a long trip through busy small roads.
There are lots of things to do in walking distance and many great restaurants.
The hotel food is great and the bar is cozy (too bad they didn't know the ingredients in the "bitterballen") - so a friend had a slight allergic reaction.
The staff the front desk could be a little less curt in their answers but the concierge made up for this in leaps and bounds.

Certainly the establishment the best situated in Amsterdam, quite meadows of the Centre, Rembrandtplein, the Red Light District, the Displeasure of the shopping Streets and in feet!! Brilliant!!Luxurious, flashy, beautiful with a nice and friendly staff, our room was great but the bed was a bit small, the bathroom, not up and a deposit is required upon arrival to the bar, not very wise .

We are fans of Radisson Blu's, and this was the first time we stayed her. It didn't disappoint.
Very comfortable bed, room was exceptionally clean and well appointed.
Lovely view of the canal. Location is walking distance to some good restaurants.
Breakfast was a terrific spread.
We would definitely stay here when next in Amsterdam.

I booked this hotel as a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday and felt confident that the standard at Radisson Blu would be high - we were certainly not disappointed!
The staff at check-in and throughout the stay couldn't have been more helpful. We were able to check-in early and called down for a couple of extra pillows that were quickly delivered. the room was fairly small but pleasant and quiet as it looked over the back streets.
A canal view would have been even better but the room was great for a two night stay.
We decided to eat out because we wanted to explore so I booked room-only. We did use the bar in the evening. It's a small bar but very elegant, if a little pricey.
The location was absolutely perfect, a short walk from the main streets so it has the benefit of being quieter but you can be in the centre of town or the red light area in a couple of minutes.
There is a local tax to be aware of and ready to pay on check-out - it cost me another 40 or 50 euros which was a bit of a pain!
You can use the internet and computers in reception free of charge which is handy for booking trips and printing boarding cards.
I'd definitely stay again but would try to get a canal view.

Room Tip: I asked for a quiet room but this may be why we were at the back rather than over the canal at the f...

Good hotel, clean, friendly staff and good food. The location is great with a short walk to most places to visit and hop-on tour bus etc. We stayed there three nights to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary.

Stayed two nights on a Viking trip. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the location is ideal, close to many attractions but on a quiet street. Breakfast buffet is large and diverse.. Plenty of hot water and great water pressure.. One note to travelers. There is a big difference between a standard and a superior room. We had a superior and friends had standard. The standard looks to be only about 2/3 the size of superior.
