I've stayed at the hotel for two nights and as for such a stay it was perfect placed in the center within a walking distance to Ann Frank's house or Amsterdam Centraal.
The low price was an additional plus of the property as well as the building itself, which is very nice to an eye.
For some, lack of the lift might be an issue, as the staircase is very high with a lot of steps, but that is typical in Amsterdam's old buildings. For me it was an additional charm.
I've stayed in a room on the last floor (more steps = better workout ;)). It was small, but comfortable with a great city view and balcony to enjoy the city from. Small, but well designed bathroom was just enough for my needs. There was a safe in my room, so I could store my valuable items as well.

Breakfast was very nice, could be enjoyed on a terrace with a city view :)

Overall, I am very pleased with my stay at DiAnn.

Room tip: Last floor rooms have balconies.

I feel very thankful to get a room at Hotel Di-Ann for my stay in Amsterdam when I was there alone as a tourist. I had booked the room less than a week before my arrival at Amsterdam.

The staff of the Hotel are the people who help make my experience meaningful and positive despite the hotel having no lift and room furnishing is basic.

Hotel Di-Ann stood out because it met my requirements:
1) It was close to the heart of Amsterdam. It is about two tram stations from Amsterdam Centraal station. I could talk a 15-20 minutes stroll and reach Amsterdam Centraal station by foot.
2) It was relatively near many places of interest.
3) Free WIFI! I felt thankful that the WIFI is consistently working even in the room area.
4) Compared to other hotels in Amsterdam at the locations I was looking at, it was considered reasonable.

The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful. This helps a lot. I am also thankful that the staff of the hotel would extend their service to help me book an airport shuttle to the airport on the date of my check-out. My request to have my luggage stored temporarily in the storage room was also very well attended to.

The room is very basic so please keep expectations manageable. I had a room for one person and it was a compact room with all the basic amenities fitted in.

The hotel does not have any lift. I understand this appear to be a common issue even for the nearby hotels in Amsterdam. I felt thankful that one of the hotel staff went the extra mile to help me take my luggage up the stairs upon my request for help. However, people who have issues going up or down the stairs may wish to consider other options as the stairs were relatively steep.

Breakfast was basic. If food runs out, ask for some refill.

I like the architecture of the building that the hotel is located in, and the best part of breakfast was to take a seat at the table at the balcony area and look at the view of the neighbourhood from the balcony. The only thing to watch out for is that other guests may smoke while they are at the balcony.

There is no safe in the room. Guests may enquire at the reception if they need a safe to store valuables.

A good location. So if the price works out, I am willing to consider. Afterall, I have had relatively good experience with the staff at the hotel who have been very kind to attend to my requests.

The neighbourhood is relatively safe. There was one night when I returned to the hotel around 2 a.m. Except for the fact that the traffic lights do not work at that hour, I felt relatively safe to walk back to the hotel from the nearby Dam area late at night.

The hotel has only one problem, the stairs, but all the hotels in Amsterdam has that problem so it doesn't matter. The hotel is well located not far from the Dam square. The rooms are small but nice and comfortable. The most important thing to check in a hotel when you visit Amsterdam is the cleanness of the hotel and if it has bed bugs. Hotel Diann is clean and has no bed bugs. Basic hotel, WIFI, comfortable, well located and Prices are good compared to other hotels in the area.

Room tip: No more than first floor above the reception, the stairs are too tiring!

Very cheap, basic, could do with modernising and fixtures & fittings could do with checking as lamps weren't working, some didn't even have plug ins! A kettle in the room would have been nice too but for the price it's ok!
Continental breakfast but not that much choice so better to eat out. Friendly staff and 24hr desk which is handy!

This hotel is not too far from Amsterdam station, approximately 15/20 mins walk. It's in a prime location near a lot of tourist attractions.

This being said, the hotel itself should be referred to as 'hostel'. When we were arrived we were greeted by the most steep and dangerous steps. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who is elderly unless they are ridiculously fit and willing to take a chance with the dangerous steeps. Which might I add I found very daunting when carrying my luggage down the stairs. We were not offered assistance.

The room itself was small, thankfully myself and my friends did not spend a lot of time in our room. The website also offers wifi, this is not true. We were advised by a member of staff that there was a defect in a room. Room 203. We stood outside the room and still were unable to connect.

The breakfast is not what I would call breakfast, slices of cold ham/cheese and cold boiled eggs. There is a store Albert Heign not to far down the street were you'll get a nice breakfast for on the go.

If you're looking for a hostel, this is the place for you, if you want comfort, I would not recommend a this 'hotel'
