Location is great: in walking distance of most attractions in the old city. The room was clean and the breakfast buffet was correct. But...it's a very noisy hotel: street noise but also lots of noise from the 'elevator cooling', from the staff... Make sure you don't get a room with a number ending on 40-50: that side of the hotel is located across a very noisy disco-bar, just a few meters from your window! The disco ball shatters light into your room! The bathroom was not very comfortable (shower only gave too hot or too cold water) and there were lots of flies in the room. I think you can find better 3 star hotels!

Room Tip: Make sure your room number doesn't end on '40-50': then you're sleeping just a few meters away from the entrance of a busy disco-bar

This hotel was recommended by a friend and we found it a terriffic value.
We loved the location, the food, the concerige and the entire staff.
We arrived extremely early in the morning and they accommodated us immediately.
We would always stay at the Eden and recommend it to our friends.

We enjoyed our stay at the Eden Hotel Amsterdam with some reservations.
On the positive side the front desk staff and the concierge were particularly helpful.
The room however had some drawbacks. The bathroom configuration was not good at all. The bathroom tub/shower was so narrow that it was impossible to avoid spraying water all over the bathroom floor. It was also very slippery which risked the danger of falling. The sink afforded very little space to put toiletries - more shelves would be useful.
The bedroom portion of the room was OK but it was a challenge to walk betwwen the foot of the bed and the wall mounted TV. The floor lamp was missing a bulb which was not replaced until we ask for it to be done.
The hotel's location is excellent and we would consider staying there again on a future visit.
Overall about a 6 out of 10 rating.

Firstly, the hotel seems to strictly stick to it's 3pm check-in time, after arriving at around 11am, we were told our room wouldn't be available until 3pm - and after coming back to the hotel around 2.45pm, we weren't given our keys until a few minutes after 3pm. This isn't a problem per se, but after a very early flight, we were hopeful of an early check-in for a nap (as some hotels allow you early check-in), but this wasn't the case here - so if you expect any chance of an early check-in, it's most likely doubtful.

Upon arrival in our room, it was a nice size and nicely decorated with modern decor and very clean. The bathroom was immaculate with shower gel/shampoo in a dispenser in the bathroom. We were hoping for a view onto the front canal, but we ended up with a side-room, facing somewhere onto the side of the hotel and some flats which were parallel. The air-con system in the room was excellent and kept the room a nice temperature. The beds were absolutely superb and one of the most comfortable sleeps I've had in a hotel.

The location is great, around the corner is Rembrant Square, which has a Starbucks and plenty of bars/restaurants, in addition to a tram line (which we didn't actually use). It's within walking distance of Anne Frank House and the Heineken Experience - about ten - fifteen minutes in different directions. The hotel is actually within walking distance of everything we did within the city, so there's really not much need for public transport - we walked from Centraal Station upon our arrival too.

The staff in the hotel - particularly the concierge - were hugely friendly and all fluent in English, and couldn't do enough to help - this made our stay a lot more pleasant. Our first night's stay was perfect, getting into our room around midnight and there was no noise at all. However, on our second night, we got in a bit later and outside of our room was really noisy, with music coming from the apartments opposite. There was nothing in the rooms in the way of coffee/tea, mini-bar, etc, also - which was disappointing. These are the only downsides of a great value hotel in an excellent location in a brilliant city. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city.
