So easy to get to by train from airport. Spacious room, good bathroom, comfy beds nice view over city. All the transport on your doorstep, although we walked everywhere. Even though our room was right over the railway station with all the windows closed it was quiet.

The name of the hotel says it all. Right next to Amsterdam Central railway station, in fact some of the rooms are over the rail lines. We have just spent 2 nights at this property and have very little negative to say. The room was on the ninth floor which means one has to take two lifts to get there but that was not a problem.
We had a brilliant view over the train tracks to the water and have some good pictures of massive cruise ships passing our window. The windows do not open, and it took some time for the air conditioner to become effective so the room was a bit 'airless' at times.
The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful so check in was easy.
The room was clean but as you would expect quite basic. Saying that for the price, good value for money, the only thing we might have asked for was a refrigerator.
The all you can eat was very basic and I considered a bit pricey at 17Euros, but that is my fault for just having cereal and fruit.

Overall the place to stay for an economical place to stay in the middle of Amsterdam. The trains did not stop us from having a really good nights sleep.

Room Tip: Top floor has a great view and no noise but you have to swap lifts on the 5th floor.

Great location and best place beside Amsterdam Central station, all the main attraction are about a walking distance, nice but small rooms, good advise is to ask city view rooms, buffet breakfast is great,

Stayed in Ibis Amsterdam our last night in the city before catching a flight back home. It was a last minute reservation, so we booked the room hastily. Three of us, plus luggage, were cramped up in a tiny room, with a shoe-box sized bathroom. Room and corridor windows do not open, so if you are not a 24hour air condition type, think twice. It was a very short stay and it wouldn't be so terrible if the room wasn't seriously overpriced (very expensive breakfast not included).
The room is probably much more viable for two persons, but then again there are lovely hotels in Amsterdam to choose from.
On the other hand, this Ibis is right off the central station, in walking distance of everything you would like to do or see (but, come on, you are in Amsterdam: almost everything is in walking distance and the walks around the city are beautiful!!), the room was clean, and the hotel has this certain urban, youthful feel to it. I wouldn't go there again though...

Dear maria p,

Thank you for posting your thoughts on Tripadvisor.

I'm happy to hear you liked our location, cleanliness and the look and feel of the hotel.

I'm sorry to learn you didn't like the size of the room. Of course, there are larger rooms available in Amsterdam, but everything comes at a price. At certain periods, hotel prices can indeed be quite high in Amsterdam. Should you wish to book a room, please check our website in advance to find the best deals and offers.

Hopefully we can welcome you in our of our double or twin rooms in the future!

Best regards,
Dennis Rullens

My wife and I are frequent travelers and have found that the Ibis hotels are the most consistent in services. We have stayed in at least 50 different cities world wide and stayed in an Ibis Hotel whenever possible. When traveling a hotel provides a place to sleep when you are not out in the city. We have found the rooms to be spotlessly clean and almost exactly the same no matter which Ibis we have stayed in. Most are smoke free and are usually very close to the RR stations. The Ibis chain is a businessman's hotel so the prices are very reasonable but vary from city to city. Depending what city you are visiting the cost of breakfast can be very good or sometimes about the same as a local café. Most European cities have Ibis hotels and many other cities around the world do as well. The Amsterdam Centre is located about 100 steps from the train station and a short walk to just about everything else. We highly recommend the Ibis hotels.

The location of the hotel is excellent, next to the Central Station. We did everything on foot. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and with good size. The staff are very kind. Amsterdam is a wonderful city.

Nice hotel, excellent location just next to the Central train station AND beyond the P1 parking: 20 euros/day, you must book it online in advance - you wont find any other park this cheap around this location.
The hotel's staff in helpful and nice, no problems, no thrills. The rooms are a bit small, but you should expect this with Ibis, so no surprises.
Beware of the mosquitoes: you're not safe, even on the 7th floor :)
