“SHOCKING!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 March 2013

Truely terrible service.. We booked to stay here for a works conference only to be email the working day before we leave to be told they have over booked themselves and needed to cancel our booking. I had 3 rooms booked for 3 nights and they tried to move us to a lower grade hotel and were very blarzay..
They ended up sorting something out with took a lot of hassel... complete waste of time!

NEVER TO BE CONSIDER - CLEARLY DONT VALUE THEIR CUSTOMERS

Dear vauable guest,

Again I would like to apoligize for the inconvenience caused by transfering you to another hotel.

I hope our apoligy letter and further e-mail correspondence have made you feel a little bit better and that you trust us in welcoming you in the Albus on your next trip to Amsterdam. We can't wait to make up for our mistakes and hope to see you soon!

With kind regards,

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for two nights (room 203) (27th-1st March) upon arrival check in was quick and easy, lady on the desk was more than helpful, she took us to our room and explained everything in the hotel, she showed us on the map places to visit and was very helpful, she defiantly gives the great first impression for the hotel.

Hotel room was a good size, bathroom is big enough (being two girls we never found us fighting for mirror space in the morning to do our make up), room was clean and modern, bed was gorgeous, never wanted to get out it was that comfy.

Location was brilliant, literally within 10/15 minutes walk to everything.

Hotel lobby is very cute and modern, it is actually like you see in the pictures.

We will be coming back to Amsterdam and staying in this hotel, would recommend it to anyone.

Also I've noticed a few people complaining about noise outside while trying to sleep, trams stop at midnight and don't start again til nine, it was never a problem for us, if you're in bed before ten you shouldn't be in amsterdam! Trams are everywhere as you will find out, take those reviews with a pinch of salt.

We are three girls aged 20 and having stayed here for three nights 9-11th December 2012, I have to say this hotel was great! Upon arrival on the first night, the lady who checked us in at the desk took us to the side counter and gave us lots of reccomendations for places to visit, eat, shop and other popular tourist destinations. She even gave us a map and marked out locations and which trams we could use to get around. She was really funny and down to earth and definitley gave the hotel a great first impression.

Our room was clean, modern and tidy. We had a balcony, complementary water/robes and free wifi. We also had a balcony which was a nice touch, although the view was limited. Saying that at night the lights were pretty.

The lobby area was also clean, tidy and modern. There is a trendy sofa area next to a burning fire feature behind glass. There is also a small bar area and a restaurant. We ate breakfast in the restaurant which usually consisted of cereal, toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, muffins, cold meats/fruit/yoghurt etc, tea, coffee and juices.

Locationwise this hotel was good. About a 2 min walk to Rembrant Square, lots of local places to eat, a few casinos near by and coffee shops. Taxis regurlarly passed the hotel if ever we needed them.

Would definitley reccommend The Albus Hotel, Amsterdam!

We stayed here on our first ever trip to the 'dam and apart from the construction work that was going on in the lobby (this was march 2010) the hotel was lovely. I made the mistake of asking if it was ok to smoke weed in the rooms (well, it was my first time lol) and they gave me a room facing an internal square with windows that didn't open, tho it did have the advantage of being quiet we did miss out on any kind of view. We didn't try the restaurant, but that's more down to my bias against hotel food (I was in the trade for 20 years) than the hotel itself. As other reviewers have said the location is excellent and I can definitely recommend the coffeeshop around the corner ;)

Had a brilliant three night stay in the Albus hotel with my boyfriend in Feb 2013. The location of this hotel is central and great for getting to all the city's attractions. The hotel is great, stylish and modern with very friendly and helpful staff. The room we stayed in was small but very confortable with a coffee machine which was a nice touch. For the most part the room was very clean untill I checked under the bed which was pretty dusty, it was the last day so it didnt bother me too much it might have just been an oversight on the cleaners part. We ordered room service one night and the food we had was delicous. Overall we really enjoyed our time at The Albus and would definately recommend to friends and family.

The Hotel Albus is a wonderful little gem of a hotel in the mass of confusing accommodation options Amsterdam has to offer. Its location is perfect, just round the corner from the Flower Market with a myriad of local amenities on your doorstep. Inside this 4 star hotel is incredibly cool and stylish. The staff are happy and helpful. There is unlimited coffee in the rooms and the lobby (the nice sort in those posh capsules!). Our room was beautiful in design and functionality, spacious and the bathroom was immaculate. For 80 euros a night, this place is not only incredibly good value for money, but has the perfect combination of being right in the heart of the city, as well as being a haven of peace and tranquility away from it when desired.

The location couldnt be any better,it was far enough out to be reasonably quiet, and also encouraged us to walk our way around which gave you a better feel of Amsterdams culture and way of life. The rooms were excellent [703 suite] of which we were upgraded to because we booked through trip advisor. The receptionist was extremely welcoming and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble,we opted not to have breakfast as it was a little expensive but on the plus side it made us go out and find a place to dine.I would say to sum up the albus was a top place and to be upgraded was an absolute bonus.10/10.
