Very Central, very good accomodation. I have been in a suite, and the experience was great. Good ammenities. The staff is always ready to help you. I suggest to rent a bicicle at the hotel, and visit the city .

The service excelled before we even arrived. The concierge helped book dinner at Bord Eau, the two-star Michelin restaurant int the hotel. They also provided excellent maps and information about the city that helped us plan our daily itinerary and understand the layout of the city and airport.

When we arrived at the splendid building on the canal, we were very early but the staff got us food and drinks while our room was readied, four hours before check-in time. The room itself, a junior suite with canal view, was spectacular. Spacious by any standard, with enormous bedroom, impeccable decor, opulent bathroom and balcony overlooking the canal. The tv was built into a cabinet and would ride at the touch of a button. Spacious closets and drawers, ample table space, and chargers for all devices and regions of the world. There was even an iPad with added information at our disposal.

The location couldn't be better. It's within easy walking distance of the major museums, the Anne Frank House, Rembrandt House, Dutch Resistance Museum and much more. The canal tour leaves right from the hotel. Many good restaurants in the neighborhood. And, I was able to get my wife flowers for her birthday right across the street in the famed flower mart.

The staff gave excellent advice on running routes, biking, and walking. They also helped arrange for a car for a business outing, and a car to the airport.

I can't think of anything bad to say, or any reason I'd stay anywhere else when I return to Amsterdam. Bravo!

Room Tip: Get a canal view. Its memorable.

Stayed in a suite overlooking the canals; best possible views of a beautiful city. Gorgeous bathroom, bedroom, living room, with quality amenities and welcoming touches such as a complimentary bottle of good wine, fresh cakes every day at the bedside, room equipped with iPad etc. breakfast fast moving but very nice and view never gets tiring.

Room Tip: Canal views are worth the extra expense, and a suite is something special.

We had a lovely room with direct view of the canal and a terrace . The hotel is lovely ! The included breakfast was fine , the coffee weak ....but I would stay at this hotel again. There is a very fine restaurant in the hotel and having lunch here is a special treat.

Room Tip: Ask for a terrace room on the canal.

We spent our last night here having stayed multiple nights twice before, and given top top ratings.

Not so this time: a dinner fiasco in the brasserie restaurant of the hotel, and a malfunctioning HDTV that not even the hotel staff could make work. I explained all the details of the dinner mess to the person in charge: basically a serving malfunction; it appears our order was lost or misplaced. Repeated assurances that 'dinner is coming' turned out not to be the truth. No offer whatsoever was made by anyone at the hotel to make amends however modest. Of course management apologized.

Still, this 5 star hotel wasn't on this particular night. A shame.

Had booked a junior suite and upon arrival was given an upgrade to an amazing 1 bedroom, living room, dining room suite with a view of the canal. Was thrilled. The room was amazing.

Alas, there was a problem, the windows didn't open.

Being a traveler who tries to get what he wants, I asked if there was another similar room with windows that opened.

The staff went above and beyond and within 24 hours, put me in a room with 5 balconies, with an office space, bedroom, 2 bathrooms, dining and living rooms. An amazing upgrade still at the original price.

Thanks Dennis and to the rest of the staff. You guys were great, made the trip that much better, I highly recommend this hotel for those looking for the luxury experience.

Room Tip: Take an upgrade, go for a canal view. If you want a room with a window that opens, make that clear...

We stayed from 8 - 12 July. We booked a deluxe room with a river view but upon arrival we were upgraded to a suite. The room (#238) was at the front of the hotel and had balconies (off both the sitting room and bedroom) with tables and chairs and that that looked out at the river. The suite was spotlessly clean and had many amenities. The bed was very comfortable. We found the staff to all be very friendly and helpful. We greatly enjoyed the canal tour available with the hotel's boat, and Freddy's bar was a nice place to relax and have a drink. The breakfast buffet offered many options (plus other items such as omelettes could also be ordered). The hotel's location is central and a 10 - 15 minute walk to major city attractions. The free wifi worked well. This is an expensive hotel but that is expected of one of the "Leading Hotels of the World". We thought the price fair and loved our stay. We'll stay here again if we return to Amsterdam.
