Twitchy Thewonderbunny, a globetrotting pink and blue bunny, gives the Hotel Nadia in Amsterdam a four out of five carrot rating. The rooms are tiny but there is an excellent use of space. The proprietors and staff are very friendly and extremely responsive to guest needs. The only drawback is the steep staircase and lack of elevator. Given the style of architecture in this city, that seems to be a common occurrence. www.nadia.nl

My friend and I stayed here for a couple of nights, it has a great location - about a minutes walk from Anne Frank's house and five minutes from Dam square.

Our room was small (I believe this is true of a lot of rooms in Amsterdam) but cosy, comfortable and very clean with fresh flowers, a TV, fridge and a safe; the bathroom was tiny but again very clean and the shower was better than my shower at home!

The breakfast room overlooks the canal and the Western Church. You have a choice of white/brown bread which you can ask to have toasted, various jams and marmalades, croissants, rolls, cake, apples, yoghurts, orange juice, tea and coffee.

However the best thing about the hotel was the staff who were the friendliest and most helpful I have ever come across.

I would definitely stay here again.

Staied at hotel Nadia with my boyfriend for 5 nights and we had a great time there: location is awesome behinde the royal palace and in front of the Wester Kerk;our room wos clean and spacious for Amsterdam standards with balcony on Raduistraat, making it a perfect spot to watch the world go by(it's a trafficated street but windows are thick and from the first floor we heard no noise);breakfast was good(fresh croissant, cheese, bread, spreads, fresh fruit, milk, coffee, orange juice). Last but not least the staff are IMO the best you can find in Amsterdam(one of the girls speaks perfect italian so this was a bonus for us) and will do anything they can to make your stay the best possible.
In the end I'd recomend Nadia hotel to anyone looking for a great fairly priced accomodation in the wanderful city of Amsterdam.

Room Tip: If you have problems sleeping ask for a canal side room as is quieter

If you are after a state of the art swanky hotel with bags of room the the Nadia is not the hotel for you. If you are after a quintessentially Dutch, clean hotel with brilliantly friendly staff in a great location then get on and book the Nadia. The rooms are cosy but for a weekend break it did is just great. 10 mins walk from the city centre and central station it is ideally located. Be sure to visit the 9 streets shops which are really close and far far nicer than the shops in the town centre.

My girlfriend and I spent a week in Amsterdam after a week in London in early April 2011 over her birthday. I can't say enough about how well the staff of Hotel Nadia treated us the whole time. A birthday bouquet for the lady waiting in the room and our new friend Hazem is the hardest working, most generous and polite person we came into contact with our entire trip. Don't let the staircase intimidate you - you'll get used to it in no time, and you will not have to carry your luggage up them yourself (thanks to Hazem!). The hotel is in the perfect location - steps from some fantastic restaurants, including a wonderful pancake shop right below the hotel we ate at four times! Damrak is only a few blocks away and the light rail stop is right across the canal next to the hotel, which is the way to go to get to the Heineken Museum or Oosterpark. I woud highly recommend taking the day-trip to Ghent and Brugge, Belgium. See the tour stop on Damrak, close to central station. With two nights left in our stay, the hotel manager requested a few minutes of our time and asked us to gather our things in our room. Hazem escorted us, luggage in tow, to a beautiful, canal-side suite for the last two nights of our stay. I will never stay anywhere but Hotel Nadia in future visits, thanks to a great facility, outstanding staff, and rates that would be a bargain at twice the price.
