The primary pro of Agora Hotel is its location - easy walk from Centraal Station and near tram line. Breakfast was included in the price but it was very standard...and when paying as much as we did over the New Year holiday, I would have expected more. Our room was really small and needed some general updating (spots on the ceiling, dirty carpet in places, etc.)

If you stay there on a weekend day, be very aware that there is a disco directly next door and they do not stop the music until 4-5 am. It's impossible to sleep...also the outside window does not close completely so you cannot block any noise that way, either.

We asked for a wake up call but did not receive one thus making us a bit late getting started in the morning. It would have been a nice gesture for the hotel to offer to call us a cab or pay for a tram ride to Centraal Station but all we got was a "sorry."

It's not a bad hotel but it's just not what we expected. If you're looking for budget and dont plan on sleeping, then this will work for you.

The best thing about this hotel is the convenient location. If you are a walker it is near enough to the central station and major museums. If you are not a walker there are several close tram lines. The breakfast is packaged items. The rooms are small but clean.

Room Tip: Canal side rooms are nice but can be noisy.

The beds were comfy the place was beautiful. One room was up 3 flights of stairs and was tiring to get to. Unfortunately was woken up on occasion as could hear people next door or outside my room. Otherwise perfect!

The staff were very helpful, accomodating and friendly. Will definitely stay here again next time were in Amsterdam. The service and the room we got was worth what we paid for. Only negative thing about the hotel is since we stayed in the 2nd floor & they didn't have elevators, it was pretty tough to go up the narrow stairs. But other than that I don't have any negative comments about the hotel service, location and our experience in general :)

While on a business trip I booked a room for one person in this hotel for a friday night. It turned out to be a room with 3 single beds on the street side! There is no elevator , the stairs are narrow and very steep. I was assured there would be a night porter but at two in the morning there was noone to be seen. The mattress of my bed was sagging. There was a small old TV, but no channel changer to be found. Large stains on the side of the mattress. I was unable to sleep because the room was very noisy till at least three in the morning : disco music, traffic noise, people talking, clanging bicycle chains ... The breakfast room has communal tables. Everything is self-service The breakfast eggs were cold and the coffe was horrible. Cheese and smelly salami were kept under the same dome. Despite the central location, at 109 € the room was seriously overpriced.
