“Great Value for money”
Reviewed 23 May 2014

For a cheap place to stay it is fantastic. Rooms are basic. There was three of us in our room and there were bunk-beds in ours. It was a fun experience! The breakfast is continental and there is a good choice. You will feel like you are rocking for days afterwards but that is all part of the fun! The Botel is clean, and comfortable. The only downside is the location isn't central, although ferries do run every 15 minutes to take you into Amsterdam square. The bathroom is a bit of a squeeze, but for a place to rest you're head and refuel with a good breakfast I would recommend. Plus the location of the botel is lovely and we took some fantastic photographs around there. Perfect if there is a large group of you.

very close to the center, you can reach the central station by ferry, which is free and runs 2 per hour. you can take the ferry behind Central Station
the rooms are large (very large if you compare with other boats, and normal if you compare with a hotel room. The bathroom a little bit smelly, but O.K

the breakfast was excellent - English and continental. helpful staff

stayed for a rugby weekend. not a bad base to visit Amsterdam. frequent free ferries into the centre of Amsterdam make it very accessible. the hotel is basic but is clean and comfortable. bathroom is a bit small and the shower is a fine balance to have at a decent temperature. and the advertised free movies are targeted more toward the adult market!!

this is the second time we have stopped here so it cannot be that bad. bathroom small but what do you want to do in a bathroom on holiday ! breakfast has a good selection just not enough tables to eat at, the party of people i was with we never managed to eat together. waterside rooms tend to be less noisy. a big disappointment for us this year was the bar was never kept open for us. the ferry service is fantastic and just around the corner.

I stayed there for three nights in April 2014. It's located just a short ferry ride from Amsterdam Centraal.
The staff was quite helpful, rooms small but clean. The botel wasn't by far fully occupied and that was probably a good thing, because you could hear a lot from neighbour rooms (people talking, TV, WC...). I had a waterside room, so I had a view on a submarine and that's something you don't see in every hotel :)
The bathroom was very small, two people would be too much for it. It was quite clean but no miracle. Maybe it was problem with just my room, but the shower was working really bad. Sometimes there was a really strong stream, but few seconds later, there was almost no stream at all... Quite annoying, it took me some 15 minutes to take a shower first time. Then I learned how to work with the faucet to get at least some decent stream so it was better, but still far from good.
If you don't expect luxury and just need a place to sleep, go for it.

Room Tip: Rooms on the waterside are quieter.

Stayed here five nights. We booked a double room 2 months in advance but when we arrived we were given a twin with 2 tiny beds. Tried to change rooms but rude staff wouldn't do anything. Room very dirty and mould all through the bathroom. Got woken up at 6am by reception one morning. Overall a terrible experience.

Stayed for four nights last month and had a ball. It's just a ten minute ferry ride from centraal station. Our room was on the forth floor and was spotless and very quiet. Great choice for breakfast with something for everyone.
