Recently stayed in a 12 bed dorm while traveling with three friends. This hostel was perfect for our group, as it was in a great location and offered a comfortable place to stay. They also had a very nice bar to grab a few drinks as well as a nice outdoor beer garden to sit and enjoy. Would highly recommend this place as we were more than pleased.

Thank you very much for your review! We only have one note: You stayed in an 8p-dorm, not a 12p-dorm, because we don't have any 12p-dorms. Thanks again, come and stay with us again some day! - St. Christopher's @ The Winston

I recently stayed at St Christopher's Inn for 5 nights, and couldn't have asked for a better location or stay.
My friends and I stayed in two separate private rooms, both were comfortable, clean and safe everything we had hoped for.
The hostels location was perfect. We had previously organised tours which left from dam square, which was less than two minutes down the street. Pub crawls left from the same square and last stop was st Christopher's which made going out a lot less stressful!
We really liked the vibe of the hostel that you could party easily but you could also do some more relaxing site seeing at the same time.
We were a bit worried about staying in the red light district and staying above a bar, thinking it would be really loud. But the rooms were out of ear shot of the noise and the strip was not seedy whatsoever.
Staff were awesome, and the free breakfast was great!
Would really recommend staying here and seeing beautiful amsterdam!

We stayed in a hotel room here. It was great. We had a balcony with views, everything was clean and we felt very safe. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Would absolutely stay here again. Also it's just a walk away from Dam Square and right in a nice part of the red light district.

Very very clean 8-men-bed hostel that included simple daily necessities such as bar soap, towel, cup, and

Amazing location that made it easy to visit the popular places such as the churches (which are museums in most instances), historical sites, Madame Tussauds, shopping districts etc - and by 'Amazing', I mean that all these places are really close that my friends and I could conveniently walk from our hostel to our destination(s).

Also, the hostel is safe and secure. I had no problems feeling assured of leaving my belongings in the room as I head on with my plans in Amsterdam. Great breakfast, great staff! Definitely a hostel I will go back to if I ever visit Amsterdam again!

Hey there,

Thanks for taking the time to write to us. We really appreciate your feedback.

It was great to read that you made the most of our central location. We know how important it is to be right in the heart of all the action in the city.

And, it’s also nice to see that you felt safe and secure in The Winston. Like many big cities, Amsterdam often gets a bit of a bad rep, but we’re glad that you were able to see past that.

Safe onward travels,

I was given the pleasure to stay at two different types of dorms at the hotel.
I came to stay at the Winston last minute, and the last room they had available was an all female dorm. I can honestly say this was the best hotel I have stayed at! It was centrally located. Coffee shops, food places, a club next door, and a bar downstairs with dozens more within walking distance.

My all female dorm was like a suite. There were no bunk beds, everyone had their own single bed. It came with a towel, soap, shampoo, and a cup. The room was spotless, there was a mirror in the room that consisted of 4 beds and there was a private bathroom that we shared with the adjoining female room also consisting of 4 beds. Be careful not to lay on the bed when your first arrive because they are so comfortable, you won't want to wake up. Most importantly there were so many outlets in this room that no one had to share or fight for any!
I next moves to a mixed 4 bed dorm and it cam with the same items I received in the female dorm. The bathroom was huge, one downside is that the light in the bathroom was broken and it was hard to see. The bunk beds were equally as comfortable, but the outlets in the room were located in different spots which made charging devices awkwardly

The hotel offers a free breakfast which is okay. Your standard hot beverages, juice, cereals, bread, fruit, yogurt, meat, and cheese.

As I said earlier in my review, there is a bar downstairs and there are special discounts you receive on drinks and food. Because of the bar downstairs and the club next door this is not the hotel you stay at if you are a light sleeper.

This hotel is a great place to stay after a long trip backpacking, the staff is AMAZING! Friendly, funny, and forever helpful. I will for sure be back.

Room Tip: They always say they are at of rooms online, just go to the hotel in the morning and there are alway...

Hey,

Good of you to get back to us.

We were really pleased to read what you had to say about our girl's dorm - we know these small home comforts can make all the difference when you're on the road for a long time ; )

You've also given us some great feedback, which we can work with to continue to develop and improve our services and facilities. After all, it's your ideas that drive the changes we make.

Thanks again and see you next time,

The very first day we reached the hostel, we were greet by a very friendly staff. Gave us good advice and even allowed us to have breakfast there free.

Very patient and accommodating staffs.
Rooms are very very clean.
Awesome bar with great discounts all day.
Breakfast food was great for a hostel.
A lot of English speakers so very easy to communicate.

Overall, best experience and would recommend it to anyone travelling to Amsterdam.

I've stayed at this hostel multiple times. It is my go-to hostel for weekend trips to Amsterdam based on location, and cleanliness. The hostel itself is great, it has a bar, restaurant and a smoking room. It's down the street from a great bakery and loads of other great foods. The rooms seem to all be different! But one thing that is consistent is that the beds are always clean. Some rooms have balconies attached to them which attach to other rooms so it's great for socializing. The location of the hostel makes it quite loud at night but they offer free ear plugs. Load up!

Hey there,

Really good of you to write to us.

It's always great for our team here at The Winston to see a familiar face. This place is a home away from home for a lot of our guys who are also travelers like yourself.

We were pleased to read that you enjoyed the many themes in our art hotel. All of our rooms are decorated by local designers and traveling artists and each room is painted uniquely different, which makes each visit as interesting as the last.

Cheers, and see you next time!
