“Wonderful small hotel in picturesque location”
Reviewed 4 April 2009

We really enjoyed our stay at the Seven Bridges Hotel. The rooms are each individually decorated in this small hotel located near 2 canals with views of 7 seven bridges. It is walking distance to the tram, canal tours, and many sites. Breakfast was delivered to our room every morning with a vase of tulips. Everything was delicious. Steep stairs are the only way up to the rooms on the upper floors. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is a beautifully converted old house in an ideal location along one of Amsterdam's many canals. We had Room Seven at the back overlooking small gardens, a spacious, nicely appointed, and quiet room. We especially enjoyed the complete European style breakfast served in our room each morning. It was a lovely way to start our day. The location of the hotel is ideal because it is in a residential area and only a short walk to excellent restaurants and cafes and also to trams to the center of the city or to the art museums. There is no elevator and the stairs are narrow, but it was not a problem for us. The owners are very helpful and courteous. We would stay there again without question.

The Seven Bridges hotel is as charming and graceful a hotel as you will find in Amsterdam. The hotel is along the Reguliersgracht, where it intersects with the Keizersgracht, (giving you a view of at least seven bridges.) The rooms vary in size and furnishings from a cozy, beamed third floor room to elegant, antique filled rooms on the lower floors. The staff were very kind and helpful, with good suggestions for dining as well as travelling. Instead of the typical bland breakfast buffet, the Seven Bridges brings your breakfast to your room; croissants and different breads, cheeses, ham and jams, fresh fruit, yogurt as well as juice and coffee or tea. The hotel has a perect location, just a few minutes stroll south of the Rembrandtplein. My criteria for selecting a hotel location are safety, quiet and especially good proximity to restaurants. The Seven Bridges hotel is located between Utrechtsestraat and Reguliersdwarsstraat which are lined with some of the best restaurants in Amsterdam. The only downside is the hotel's web-site which does not allow for on-line booking. However, don't be dissuaded - a quick phone call and a helpful staff person gave us the perfect room. The rooms vary in size, furnishings and rfates, so a room for most every budget is possible. - a great stay.

My wife and I stayed here for four days during the week of March 1. The location is great and so is the view. It's close to the large museums and there are numerous shops, cafes, and restaurants nearby. We had booked one of the smallest rooms on the top floor but a larger room (#7) was available for the first two days. It was a beautiful room with large windows looking out onto the canal. The antiques were gorgeous and each morning we were served an enormous breakfast that we could eat while gazing out our window. (The china service was different every day.) For the final two days of our stay, we were in the small room (#10) which had exposed beams and lots of small windows. It was not as opulent as the first room but it was clean, cozy, and had lots of character. In fact, it's character that I want to emphasize. Our rooms, and a few others we got to peek at, were very well designed and decorated. Each was different and all were far superior to a room at a very good chain hotel. The owner was very responsive and helpful. He even delivered a computer to our room after I mentioned that I was having a difficult time accessing the wireless network with my own. One caveat: mind the stairs! There are 46 stairs to the top floor and they are steep! I hope to return to Amsterdam soon and this hotel will be at the top of my list.

We stayed in the room at the top of the house -- #10 I believe -- and were rewarded with a beautiful view of the gardens behind several of the adjacent canal houses. The location could not be better, and the service/staff were excellent. The furnishings in our room showed terrific attention to detail and the breakfast was hearty and delicious. I highly recommend the hotel.

Bit late in reviewing this hotel but can only echo the great reviews given by so many others. We stayed in Room C, a few doors down from the main hotel. Breakfast is not served in this building but there was a fridge and eating utensils in the room. It was nice to head off to the local supermarket to buy supplies and then have a leisurely breakfast each morning the room. Room C is large and comfortable with beautiful views over the canal. Wireless internet was also available and free.
The only minor thing we found was that the morning light came into the bedroom from the main sitting area, waking us up early. The yellow blinds in the room are not made from blackout fabric and let the sunlight through. It's a minor point though and certainly would not prevent a 100% recommendation for this hotel.

My wife and I stayed in Room 5 last weekend - what a uniquely good experience it was on every level. The two Partners were most efficient and gracious, the decor splendid and having breakfast delivered to your room each morning is an added bonus.
Exceptional value for money. Do not hesitate. We shall be back there ourselves next time.
