After reading all the top reviews about Hotel Fita, we decided to give this hotel a short stay (only 2 nights). And i have to say we quite like this place. Although there are things need to change if they want to improve competition.

- The reception's check-in process is super quick
- Breakfast included are nice. Please try their homemade pancake, best i ever had before.
- The hotel is located in the famous Museum District. You can walk to any musemum from here. So very convenient !

However things are not so great :
- Everything about the room or bathroom are seems to be old or in plastic. Even they have tried very hard to keep the best service (they do have good service).
For example, old dried up soap in the shower's soap dish or plastic cup in bathroom or no trashcan in the bathroom.

I can not deny the fact that the staff are very nice persons. But if you look for some good facilities to make the best comfortable then the owner might need to improve thost things in the room. Other than that, i think we still think this is a good hotel.

Take a trip to Amsterdamn and stay at this hotel, you won't be sorry. Incredible location. Best part of town in our opinion. You're steps from the museums and parks. The family runs a clean, very hospitable operation. They make you feel very welcomed in their comfy well appointed rooms. We'll stay there again in a second.

I've been staying at Fita Hotel for many years, since the end of 90's and love the cleanliness of the rooms and the warmth and kindness of Mr Hans and Mrs Loes de Rapper and the entire team.
Breakfast is the only meal possible, but a delicious one. And the quietness of the region makes the stay even more lovely, nice to sleep well.
I really recommend it with no doubts.
opss...... and take a look in the lovely yellow duck sweetly placed in each bathroom.

We picked the hotel in large part due to the reviews on this site and were not disappointed. The staff, from the owners down to the maids, was friendly and helpful. The location, in the Museum District, is excellent. Just a short walk from the Leidseplein, and all the bars and restaurants there. The tram stops a block away and, as the name would suggest, the Van Gough Museum, the Stedelijk Museum and the Rijkmuseum are all nearby.

The room, as well as the rest of the facilities, was clean and obviously well cared for. The breakfast in the morning was very good. I highly recommend the pancakes.

When we return to this lovely city, and we will return, this is the place we will stay.

This hotel is located right across the street from the Van Gogh Museum and down the street from the Richtmuseum. The tram and the buses have stops right there. It is a short walk (on the other side of the Richtmuseum) from Leidsplein (a major square). If you want restaurants, museums, coffeeshops, etc. this is a great location. If you get too inebriated to figure your way around afterwards, just remember that you want to be across from the Van Gogh Museum. The hotel is very nice and intimate. I believe there are only 15 rooms. Very clean place, the proprietor is great, the breakfast (included) is great. We had eight unbelievable days and we will return.

The initial look and feel of the hotel was mediocre, but still acceptable, however what tipped the scale was the host and hostess.
The arrogance and rudeness of the couple was completely unbecoming of a host and hostess of such an establishment.
My friends and I were appalled at the manner in which we were spoken to and treated when we had an emergency situation one night and required some basic tools from the owner. They were downright rude and disrespectful to us and didn't care to even understand the magnitude or urgency of the problem.

This attitude miraculously transformed the next day at breakfast when the couple was chipper and merry and didn't even offer an apology or acknowledge the situation.

On a second note, breakfast was really poor and not worth the rate. You're much better off grabbing something at an outside cafe.

All in all this place leaves a bad aftertaste and has the potential to ruin your stay, even in a beautiful city like Amsterdam.

So if you're looking for bi-polar drama and comedy within the twilight zone, knock yourself out BUT if you’re a foreigner, looking for any helpful hints, friendly faces or absolutely any degree of hospitality, do yourself a favour and give this place a miss!

The hotel was not bad, but could definitely use a facelift. The rooms are incredibly tiny and stuffy. With no windows, a noisy fan and thin walls, it was difficult to get a restful sleep. The reception from the hostess was ice cold, to put it mildly. The temperature dropped even further when we needed help, with the host turning from charming Dr Jerkyll to ugly Mr Hyde, shouting at us like he was posessed by demons from drinking too much Amsterdam special coffee, reminding us that his is not a 5 star establishment, a fact we could not have missed from the cheap plastic spoons and hardened coffee in the rooms to the artificial, sandy tasting juice at breakfast! I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, ever!
