Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 10 August 2012

We had a one night stay at the beginning of August and cannot fault this hotel, and it's staff. We arrived early and were allowed use of the luggage storage facility, and were given some excellent advice by the receptionist on what to see on our short stay in Amsterdam. The room was excellent. The breakfast was very good, and again we used the luggage storage on our day of departure.
The hotel is a five minute walk from Central Station, and ten minutes from a good selection of bars/cafes/restaurants.

We absolutely loved this hotel, newly renovated & very glamorous. Friendly staff, lovely breakfast, clean & comfortable rooms, big tv. The location could not be more perfect! Walking distance to everything including the train station. We could wheel our luggage 2 minutes down the road and we were there! Amsterdam is a beautiful city and staying at this hotel was the icing on the cake.

Hello fellow travelers. I write this review from the comfort of our room here in the hotel. All negative reviews of this hotel should be disregarded. After a short walk from Amsterdam station,we checked in to our room which was ready and waiting for us. A light summer rain had drenched us, so the lobby fireplace was a nice welcome. This is a great place to stay.

Very convenient location. Five minutes from central station and ten minutes to Dam Square. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast, in the lobby, is also good with the usual buffet food - ham, salami, hard boiled eggs, croissants, tea, coffee etc. enough to set you up for the day. Room was above the front of the hotel. It was medium in size with a large six foot, electrically adjustable bed and chandelier that could be set to different colours. The only complaint was that it was too dark in the room. The bathroom was large with a large shower - spa - sauna cubicle. The shower was working and powerful but rest of the facilities were out of order!
The hotel was quiet but tram lines ran down one side. Could be noisy but we enjoyed listening to them in the morning.
For the price the hotel and services were good.

I got the room above the lobby, right at the front part of the hotel. The view from the window was great. The room is small with tricky colourful ceiling lamp.

The bathroom is too large with dark see-through curtain that is smaller the large windows on street-side. I did not dare to turn the light on at night to take shower. The floor is very cold since I visited Amsterdam at the end of winter. I did not prepare night sock. So, I stayed overnight with bare feet. It was too cold to walk in the room and the bathroom.

The cold air also leaks into the room from windows in the room and bathroom, but the heater was very powerful. So, the room is pretty warm.

The room was a bit noisy from the trams, but not that noisy cos we only stayed there no Saturday night.

The breakfast was totally okay comparing with European standard. You could also get boiled eggs. It also happened that the food is missing from the food line, but you can ask the assistant there to bring you missing stuff.

We stayed in a triple room (three women) for four nights.
The hotel is very conviently located about three minutes walk from the Central Station, it is round the corner from Dam Sqaure and Damrak. You are able to ealk to everywhere easily.
The room was spacious enough, the breakfast was good, as you would expect a continental.
There is a bag store (we arrived early and the room was not ready).
The noise is a problem, it is noisy, but you are in a central location, however when we stayed it was very hot and humid, so having the window open proved a problem, as there was no air-con in the room!!.
The beds are one of the comfiest I have slept in, nice and soft.
All in all it is a good 3 star hotel, yes I would stay there again, but take take some ear plugs!!.
