The service from the reception was excellent and the had answer to every question that vi had. the cleaning of the room was very good.
We liked the room which was big enough for 2 adults and 2 teenagers and the bathroom was ok. The Breakfast was nice and quiet.
The hotel is situated in a very calm street and it is easy to reach the center of Amsterdam by foot or take the tram in the next street.
What I liked the most was the quiet atmosphere and the least that there was not quite enough space around the tables in the breakfastroom.

Room Tip: High up has the possibility to let the window open all day and night as the room has no A/C

We received a very warm welcome and the staff were keen to offer helpful advice. Hotel was very clean and comfortable with good sized rooms and a beautiful breakfast room. Great location, very close to museums and a couple of minutes walk to the tram stops. This was most convenient as we were able to use the trams to drop off our luggage on arrival and to collect it before returning to the station. The rest of the time we enjoyed being near enough to walk around the city sights.

We had 3 nights here prior to joining our river cruise. Firstly we must complement the staff and especially Rowan, who could not have been more pleasant or helpful. Being walkers, the location was most convenient with easy access to Anne Franks residence, the major art galleries, the diamond centres, Red light district, and the tram network.
The tariff included breakfast which we enjoyed and provided a plentiful array of typical Europeon fare, but if you have to have the standard UK/USA items, you're out of luck. Much healthier choices, and we say, 'when in Rome.....'
On the down side, we were disappointed that there was no in room coffee facilities, no fridge, and no air conditioning. Free WiFi was very fast and Skype performance was as good as landline.
The lack of aircon was a bit of an issue for us as, despite night time temperatures of 11 C, the room was stifling and stuffy. We requested a fan which was provided and helped a great deal.
Would we stay at Aalders again? Yes, as it is a fine establishment, and offers good value for money. But it is not a foregone conclusion, and I guess that we would look around for others in the area which addressed some of the room issues

Dear Peter K.,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about our hotel!
Hotel Aalders really appreciates all the feedback.

When considering returning to our hotel, we offer all our guests that book a Comfort Twin Room, Triple Room or Family Room free coffee and tea facilities on the room! Also, some of our rooms have airconditioning in the room and can be requested when making a reservation through our own website (this is however subject to availability).

Again, thank you for sharing your experience and hopefully we'll meet again.

Kind regards,

The HOTEL AALDERS Family & Staff

The location is really perfect: you turn the corner and find yourself in the Museum Square with a lot of tourists while the hotel itself is in a very quiet street. There is a bus and tram stop about 50 metres away, about 12 or maybe 13 stops and you are in Dam Square from which you can walk to the Central Station and Red Light District (three more stops - and you get to the Central Station by tram). The hotel is rather cozy, the room didn't seem too small, the bathroom was quite new. The breakfast was OK and one of the rooms overlooked a very beautiful inner garden. The staff was also very friendly and helpful! I would advise this hotel to all my friends.

Our stay was nice, although I wouldn't stay there again with my kids and will stick to renting an apartment for our family. The room was nice and clean, breakfast was good (typical of European breakfasts), and the staff was friendly and helpful. I really liked the area surrounding the hotel, very quiet at night. I was satisfied but I definitely think I could have found a better deal. It was pricey when we stayed but everyone's budget is different.

I traveled to Amsterdam with my father as a gift for his 94th birthday. We got excellent help with his extra needs. (He walks slowly, so we rented a wheelchair for walking around. The hotel has a lift.) I don't think the facilities would suit someone who couldn't walk at all, but they were great for us. The standard duvet on the bed was warm for me, so I removed the fiber filled center to leave only the sheet. Dad wanted a lower pillow, and they provided it. The no barrier shower in the 4 person room on the first floor was just what Dad needed, and they even improvised a chair for his use in the shower. Even though our room overlooks the street, the street is very quiet.

The location of the hotel makes it for a great choice being near the Vondelpark, Van Gogh Museum, and Rijksmuseum. The cost is reasonable and the service is good. I loved the neighborhood of the hotel with lots of cafes, restaurants and shops around. The rooms are comfortable clean and makes for a great choice. The breakfast was basically the usual ones but was good. The most important factor is that being next to city center it still gives you a peaceful place to stay in the city
