“Great location and family hotel”

This little hotel is a real gem , located in the Jordan right on a corner where you can sit. Having your breakfast watching the world cycling past

The hotel is a house which means it has steep stairs and quirky corners but very quite , clean and really friendly staff.

Great situation for all the local main sights , loads of cafés , and restaurants

it was nice to stay at this hotel as the Dutch ambiance was great. However; even though we paid for a canal view room, our room had only a small window seeing the canal. We asked the manager if it was possible for them to give us a different room, he didn't seem to care much. Had i known that I would be given such a room, I would have just booked a standard room without a view. My advice would be to double-check the rooms you"re about the book via booking.com.
Pros: nice original ambiance, good location, good breakfast, clean rooms, fast with e-mails
cons: small rooms, thin walls, wool blankets that make you itchy!

Overall, we'd have been happier with our stay, if the staff had been more helpful about the room.

Stayed here four nights. Had a room overlooking the courtyard which, while uninspiring, was very quiet. Breakfast room had a view overlooking a canal bridge, which resulted in great people-watching. Room was comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was excellent, within easy walking distance of most major attractions.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quiet.

My sister convinced me to spend a little more and stay closer to the sites we wanted to see. Best decision ever! We were just down the canal from the Anne Frank House, close to nice restaurants and shopping and in the midst of the daily hum of Amsterdam life! We could walk to most of the main sites. With the help of the enthusiastic and knowedgable staff, we easily negotiated the tram around town when our legs couldn't keep up. We saw much more than we expected to during our two day stay. The hotel is beautiful. The three of us had a two room suite up one flight of stairs overlooking the canal. Very roomy, comfortable, clean, safe and quiet. In the morning, we had breakfast while we watched the rush of bicycles over the canals on both sides of the building. On the morning of our departure, the staff arranged for an inexpensive cab to the airport. The Hotel Weichmann is delightful in every respect and worth every penny! Pictures: the door between the two rooms and the breakfast room. Hint for tourists: Get tickets online for the Anne Frank House, it will save you a long wait in line. Favorite bar: Cafe Hoppe, quick walk from the hotel and not over-run with tourists. Museums: The Van Gogh and the Resistance Museums are superb!

Room Tip: The staff will take your bags up the stairs. We had a front room and it was quiet at night.

Stayed here for 3 nights and was very happy with this hotel. Had rooms at the back of the hotel without a view which made for a quiet night. Would be nice to be at the front but possibly noisy. Room was more spacious looking than the picture and seemed to be quite newly refurbished with new carpet. Unfortunately the bed hadn't been replaced but it wasn't too bad. Will on reception was extremely helpful and friendly. Stairs weren't as much of a problem as expected as someone took bags to room and brought them down and the stairs were easily managed without carrying bags. There was enough to chose from at breakfast so was adequate and ginger cake was especially nice. Very conveniently placed hotel and would have no hesitation in returning. Thank you.

Room Tip: Back of hotel would be quieter but no view

Stayed in Room 307 which had a small balcony overlooking the canal, the room was spotless and looked recently decorated, our room had a 'wetroom' style bathroom that looked fresh and new.

As with all the reviews the stairs are steep, but this is typical in this type of building.

The breakfast is continental style, but is fresh and topped up regularly throughout the breakfast sitting.

Although there is no drinks facilities in the rooms there is free tea and coffee served in the lounge through the day.

The hotel has very good free internet terminals and wifi throughout the building which has good connection speeds for Skype/FaceTime.

The area was quiet at night, we slept with the doors to the balcony open and wasn't disturbed.

The main paths to the centre are well lit at night and we felt very safe walking around as a group but also individually.

This hotel is situated in a corner street bordered by 2 canals. This fact alone makes staying in this hotel so worth it! The furnishings and decors are consistent to the early times and made the ambience of this hotel very homey and welcoming. The staff were courteous and helpful. Breakfast was good, and was complemented by the lovely canal views on both sides. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: The Family suite faces the canal and has 2 spacious bedrooms. Ideal for a family of 4.
