“Friendly Staff and crazy stairs”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2014 via mobile

I visited here after a weekend at Dekmantel Festival in the Amsterdam Bos. We just wanted to book somewhere cheap as we were only staying in Central Amsterdam for one night. We arrived a few hours before our check in and seen the hotel had a bar so though we would have a drink while we waited. The friendly staff said we could leave our luggage and go explore the city and come back when the room was ready. The bar itself was full of character and relaxing, then come the stairs.. You probably need mountaineering equipment to get up them but I laughed the whole way up bragging my suitcase behind me. The rooms are basic but clean and the area is noisy but you are right in the heart of Amsterdam so it's to be expected, you are provided with earplugs in the room. I will be staying here on my next visit to Amsterdam in a few months.

I love Amsterdam. This trip was number 9 for me, and it was awesome as usual. Checked into the Internationaal, which was only a 5 minute or so walk from Centraal Station, easy directions from the hotel's webpage. Michael (I believe was his name) checked us in while he tended the bar in the pub on the bottom floor of the hotel. Super duper duper friendly and smiley, upbeat and helpful! We navigated the typical Euro narrow and winding death-defying staircase up to our small simple room. Smelled like a typical room in Amsterdam, like travelers, smoking herb and excitement! Hot shared shower and toilet. Both were clean and fine. Hotel right in the center of the action, we hung out by our window for awhile having a drink just people watching. Michael gave us both complimentary pints upon our first time to the pub and we talked story for a couple hours or so, very nice bloke! I would stay there again! Street noise not a problem when sleeping.

Excellent value for the simple room to lay your head and get a hot shower!

As far as pricing goes for the location...absolutly fantastic!

All the staff were cool and the manager was awesome!

The room was basic and clean as expected, the bar had a great buzz at night and being about a 3 min walk from the train station made is even better. Haven't stayed at the same place in Amsterdam more than once but I am definetly coming back here.

The noise was fine as we were out late and up early anyway.

Was brilliant that it was smoking friendly.

The steep steps were steeper than I thought after reading about them and they were a challange with a full suitcase but fine as long as we were carfull lol!

Great location near to the train station. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms basic but clean. Near to the student area so expect noise at night ! Good value for money and as a base was exactly what we needed. The bar downstairs was handy and again very friendly - not the tourist prices we were expecting. Good screen in the bar for sports coverage

Room Tip: Ask for a room with shower if possible or you will have shared facilities

Excellent hotel based in the centre of Amsterdam.

The hotel is easy to find and very friendly staff and Michael is a giggle. The room we had was a kingside bed with an en-suit looking onto the road. Yes it was a bit noisy at night but what do you expect from a hotel in the city centre in a busy part of Amsterdam. The hotel provide ear plug if you require them already in the room but not a problem at all.

The room was very clean and tidy the bed was made every day and the room was tidied not complaints here.
