I have been to a few places and never filled a review.
200 characters is too many for me but not enough for the Conservatorium. Everything about the hotel was outstanding.
Outstanding room.
Outstanding service.
Bustling lobby.
Lively dinning.
A Shopping Gallery with exclusive boutiques and an out of the ordinary Cigar Shop.
Outstanding.

What an amazing hotel, design by Lisoni the best combination of contemporary and classic hotel we have ever seen. From the minute we arrived there was a very special welcome and the check in was very smooth. All the staffs were entertained and couldn't do enough for us. Especially we would like to mention Etan the concierge who took care of us at any possible moment, advising and making sure we will be able to experiences the city and as well as the facility this hotel offered. The highlight of the stay was the diner at Tunes restaurant, a must for each guest.

The room was very well appointed and there were lots off special touches that made it feel like home (a very nice home!) especially the very comfortable bed. The spa was very welcome and the pool and saunas were very well design, clean and well managed. What a shame when we have to leave, however we will be back.

Room Tip: Van Baerle street, in order to feel the city.

We LOVED the Conservatorium... wish we could have stayed longer. We came in for just an overnight on our way back home, and it was luxurious. Because we are Andrew Harper members, they upgraded us to a suite (well, it was more like an apartment), and we had more room than we knew what to do with. Two big screen TV's... two bathrooms, a kitchen... it was fabulous. We couldn't get the remote control to work, and they were there immediately replacing batteries and making sure we were taken care of. Bed and bedding were superior, and of course, we slept so well, and didn't want to get on the airplane the next morning. Breakfast buffet is very diverse... more than we could ask for. I would go back here in a heartbeat, as it's convenience to the highlights in Amsterdam, and right on the train line, is perfect!

This hotel has a beautiful lobby and the design is just simply amazing, but everything else was just okay. We've been to Amsterdam a few times and definetely prefer Canal House when it comes to location, the design, and the staff. It just felt more like Amsterdam if you know what I mean, but back to this hotel... the lobby is beautiful, but also super hectic with people constantly coming in and out, a bit chaotic. The staff wasn't mean or anything, but not overly helpful with sights, orders were slow, etc. and that's probably attributed to the vast amount of people there. We also had an incident with a rat in our room in which we called them, but didn't get moved out of our room. It was completely scary/disgusting, especially since I have a major fear of rats and mice. A false fire alarm also went off when we were there and that woke us up. Bare in mind we spent a night in the hotel lol. The area is nice if you want the high end shopping however. Would I go back? No. I love trying new hotels and only revisit ones that wow me, and this didn't wow me at all.

Dear guest,

Thank you very much for taking the time to inform us about your experience at the Conservatorium Hotel. We regret that we were not able to provide you with the quality of service you deserve during your stay.

I was especially shocked to read your comment about the unwanted visitor in your room. I can assure you that our team is working very closely together with the most professional company specialized in taking precaution measures to avoid that other guest will be in a similar situation. I am also very disappointed that we did not offer you a room move, and will be speaking with my team to make sure this will not happen again in the future.

Your review refers to December 2012 and I would be happy to show you the improvements implemented since that time. Unfortunately I am unable to contact you directly but please do not hesitate to contact the hotel to discuss this matter in more detail because we would love to welcome you back for a truly distinctive stay.

This is one of the nicest large hotels I've stayed at. Everything is impressive, from the staff to the room accommodations.

While we were checking in we expressed our disappointment that we had neglected to book online tickets to Anne Frank's house and it was sold out. The concierge pointed out that not many people realize it's open quite late and that there's usually no line towards closing. We said we'd give it some thought after we settled in the room. After settling into our upgraded duplex suite, the concierge called and told us she had tentatively booked a restaurant for us near Anne Frank's house which would give us time to enjoy a good, leisurely dinner and still tour the house. She was right on both counts. The restaurant was so good we went back after the tour to have desert. Further, during our stay, she was very helpful in helping us refine what we wanted to see and our restaurant choices. When my wife became ill, another concierge arranged to have a doctor visit her in our hotel room and allowed us to put his charges on the room bill.

The room was very impressive. All the walls were covered in either light limestone or marble which is a very interesting look for a hotel room. And the furnishings were appropriate for the look and feel of the room, e.g., expensive leather chairs. The bathroom fittings were excellent. Both our showers had teak benches to sit on and large diameter shower heads. The only adverse comment about the room is that it took a while to figure out how to control all the lights and shades from the electronic console. The food was good, but not memorable.

Because of my wife's illness, we were not able to see everything we wanted to and we'll definitely go back and stay at the Conservatorium.

My wife and I have been fortunate to travel widely and in many different modes. But when we decide to commit to first class accommodations we not only look at the hotel and it's amenities, we engage the concierge in advance of our stay. Years ago we learned this lesson from Louie the concierge, at what was then the Hyde Park Hotel London. Louis was renowned for the magic he could deliver, be it tickets to a sold out theater performance or seats in the hottest restaurant...he delivered. Well Etan Sala is at the Conservatorium and he is simply the most attentive, capable concierge we've encountered since the Hyde Park became the Mandarin Oriental and Louis retired. Etan and his colleagues elevated what was already a delight into a home coming! We'll be back!
