Although you would normally go to botanical gardens to look at and enjoy plants, for us the highlight really was the butterfly house! Totally loved the butterflies. Also a great place to have lunch!

We went here in early March so obviously not all of the tulips and flowers in bloom but there was still plenty to see. It is probably the smallest botanical garden I've ever been too but it still really enjoyable. They have a few massive greenhouses where they have tropical plants (palm trees are their speciality) and they were a welcome respite from the coldness. They have a cafe which where we had cake and tea and it was delicious and reasonbly priced (and really nice building!).

we only managed a brief visit here as we arrived 40 mins before closing. the garden is more compact than kew, and I found the lay out a bit quirky. I loved the butterfly house and rare trees. worth a visit as a change from museums.

We loved the tranquility of these very special gardens in the middle of a very busy City. The butterfly house was so interesting and don't miss the (poor little) Wollemi pine sitting forlorly caged and locked and with sign 'very rare-keep back'! The 3 climate glass houses were challenging to ones outfits. I think we thought that these gardens were nicer for being more compact than the large ones like Glasgow Botanical gardens and Kew. Very relaxing, don't miss.Nice cafe for lunch.
