We were in a lovely room on the 1st floor with a small balcony which was an unexpected bonus. Well appointed room and bathroom. The proprietor was friendly and helpful, making our first visit to the city that much more enjoyable. Check in was simple, we were forwarded door codes and all other information was provided to us in a handwritten note from the owner on arrival. Breakfast was very enjoyable, fresh breads and the daily offer of cooked eggs and as much fresh coffee as you can handle being the highlights. Excellent location too, a short walk from the centre of town but with plenty of attractions nearby to explore. No complaints at all and I would happily book again.

Room Tip: If you are unsure on steep narrow stairs then lower floors will be better.

I just have good words for this place, they take care from me from the beginning and they were honets people.

The negative points are like in the other Inns in historical houses in Amsterdam... the steps if you are not fit forget about this... but they tell in the web.

TIP: If you come late they will give you a code to enter and a cell phone just in case (I did not use at all) very easy. When you arrive you can take a taxi from Central Station it is realtive near 7-10 euros or use public transport...
TIP2: Address sais 12 A, but on the door you will see 12 (you do not find a big signal it is just indicated in the interphone)

Toilet is small but the room is big and nice, and bed cozy. TV have plenty of Channels and Iternet is fine in the room

Room Tip: Ask for the biggest rooms they are maybe more expensive but they have a nice view to the Channel and...

The hosts are very friendly and helpful and they welcome you in their modern, clean and well furnished B&B. The room is not that big, but has a very nice view on the canals. In the morning you get a delicious and various breakfast in the kitchen of the hosts. It was a very pleasant stay and next time when we go to Amsterdam we will try to book in this lovely B&B again.

Since this guesthouse is located in a typical Amsterdam house the room and the bathroom are not that big, but nevertheless it's modern, clean, well furnished and very welcoming. Breakfast is served in the dining room downstairs, with a nice variety of food to choose from along with a great cup of cappuccino or espresso. The owner was very friendly and gave us some useful advice on what to do during our trip. The only issue is that the shower head is affixed to the wall and is somewhat awkward to use. Note that the steps are quite steep, so it might take a little time to get used to.

We were two couples---one European the other US, meeting for a mini-reuinion. We chose Townhouse-Inn for a six-night stay. We found it on Booking.com which seems to dominate online reservations for Amsterdam and much of Europe. TH-Inn was one of the top rated B&B's in Amsterdam on Booking.com with over 120 reviews, so we felt very comfortable with our choice.

Location: You come to find this is an outstanding location. It is a 15 minute very safe and very scenic walk (or two stops on two different bus lines) from the Central Station. It is across the harbor from Nemo, a spectacular science museum on the water that looks like a cruise ship. It is within 10 minutes by peaceful walk of the Dutch Resistance Museum, Jewish history Museum, Zoo, Rijksmuseum and several other museums and sites. It is 15 minutes to the Red Light district/Chinatown, Flower market, etc. It is across the Centrum from the Anne Frank House, which we walked to in less than 30 minutes.

It is also in a beautiful calm residential neighborhood. You face the canal (if you are in the front facing rooms) which is just off the harbor so we saw a lot of interesting boats coming up the canal---none of the noisy tourist boats. Within footsteps there were 5 very good restaurants and a few cafes. We ate and drank there for 3 meals and recommend the cafe just down the block and the Kaffiehas across the canal. The guidebook also highly rates the small restaurant next door to the TH-Inn.

All around, and having walked through many of the more touristy sections at night, we were grateful to find the peace and quiet of our section. I should add that many evenings we did not get back to the Inn until 1:00 am and we never felt unsafe on our walk back.

Inn: The Inn just went through a complete restoration. Everything is brand new. And it was done right. Top quality and cleverly designed, the most is made of the space. We're usually 4* and 5* hotel travelers---but the added costs and amenities would have been lost, and frankly the experience would have been less immersive.

Our room faced the back---there was plenty of light, a small balcony with a table and plenty of quiet. The other couple had a canal facing room with large windows to maximize view. With triple-pane glass you didn't hear street noise and with black-out curtains you got light only if you wanted it. The pictures on the website are very accurate. Everything was clean, very clean, and cleaned every day/. Pristine. The room is well thought out, the bathroom small but very ample. We never wanted for more space. A must for us---good fast internet---was excellent.

A small refrigerator held our water bottles, cheese, wine and other perishables we picked up at the very good, small, fairly priced, local supermarket around the corner. There is a roof-top deck with 3 tables where we had a couple of picnic meals and great conversation under the stars.

Our Host: Christian is wonderful. Warm and deeply caring. We were busy so we only saw him in the morning, when he hosted a very delicious breakfast each morning in his first floor apartment. It was spacious---at times it was just us, other times some other very nice guests, too. Christian had suggestions, travel guides, overviews of the city---and a very large knock-out fantastic espresso machine that made us, each morning, bleary-eyed from late night dinners and drinks, double espressos, cafe americain, cappuccinos, etc.

We would not hesitate to stay here again, we felt the value, location, pleasant surprises and local experience are what every traveller longs for...

Room Tip: 1. When we went to book online the results showed no availability for one of the nights. A note to T...

Townhouse Inn is a perfect place to stay after a cruise to visit Amsterdam for few days. It is very close to passage cruise port. You can see your cruise ship across streets and a canal at the outside of the Inn. It costs less than 7 euro from the port to the Inn by taxi. The Inn is 15 minutes walk to Central Station. Townhouse Inn is at a quit residential area, less traffic, more easy to relax or sleep. The historical townhouse is complete modern design inside, and very clean. Room is small as American standard, but it is just like most European hotels. There is no elevator so the Inn is best for active adults who do not need much assistant. Breakfast is excellent, so fresh and so delicious. There are many restaurants around the Inn. We ate at Koffiehuis Vanden Volksbond across the street from the Inn for dinner 2 times because the dinner was delicious Dutch food. Christian Maislinger did wonderful job to take care all his guests. He emails to his guests to give direction to the Inn before your arrival. We did not want breakfast on our early departure day, but he prepared breakfast and left in our fridge.

What a lovely place !
We loved it, the room was beautiful with a modern decoration, fully equipped : small fridge, tv, big mirror (important for ladies), closet and a small terrace.
Bed were comfortable, sheets smells really good.
The bathroom is design and big enough for 2 ( just brought soap and shampoo they're not provided )
Breakfast is really good and fresh, fresh orange juice, fresh bread and croissants, ham, different kind of cheeses, fresh fruits, good chocolate pastries, eggs any kind you want.
The owner is really nice, he gave us some good advice about visiting the city...
Definitively a nice stay at the townhouse inn you feel there like at home...
