I stayed at Sunhead for a couple of days earlier this week. Although I'd booked the Yellow Narcissus Room, it turned out that the Red Tulip Room was free, which was great as it had a wonderful view of the canal and the hosts didn't charge me any extra for it.
Amazing attic room -spacious, warm and comfortable. The stairs up to it are steep, but I guess that's what you should expect given that the room is in the attic! They were no bother to me, but if you have limited mobility, they may pose a problem.
I arrived late in the evening, about 10.30pm at Centraal Station, but even as a single female in a new city, it felt perfectly safe to walk the 10 minutes or so it took to get to Sunhead.
The breakfast that Carlos served was fantastic. Kept me going til mid-afternoon. I found him to be a very warm, friendly and funny person and his recommendation that I try fig jam with edam cheese was inspired!
Sunhead is a lovely little find - central, friendly, clean, welcoming and reasonably priced. I will be recommending it to my friends.
