“Nice location, though you get the feeling of hostel even in private rooms..”

The staff was all the time nice since our arrival. The Hostel has all the "services" expected from a hostel (laundry, free WiFi, pc rentals, lounge area, bar, restaurant-for snacks only, ..) even Bike Rental! something nice in Amsterdam. The latter was expensive though, compared to other bike rental services in the city, but you had the easiness of renting and returning the bikes right there in the hostel.
The rooms seemed clean, but the sheets not so, with old linens and rough feeling. And the mattress, awful! But again, it's a hostel. Although, I'm not so sure if it's what you pay for since it was from almost the most expensive accommodation we payed for on our tour.
Breakfast - We were disappointed on the schedule, as the first day we missed the included breakfast for being late(10:30) and the second too early (before 8am)

Room Tip: Well, we asked for a double room, we got a dorm for a 4 reserved fully for 2 people only, so.. I gue...

This place was totally worth the money - very affordable, free breakfast, clean rooms, decent location. But there were some really strange people staying here. Also, we had to share our 6 person with 2 strangers which was a little bizarre. But, I guess that's what you can expect from a hostel in Amsterdam.
I felt safe there, staff was nice, great facilities, and decent rooms.

I was a little disappointed for the first time with a Hostelling International hostel. While this one was neat, it wasn't clean. The floors in the dorms and bathroom were dirty. While new arrivals were given fresh sheets in sealed plastic, the comforters were nice and soiled. Luckily, I had my own sleep sheet for extra covering so I was okay without the comforter.

There were a few rules. You were assigned a bed and a locker. (Bring your own lock or purchase one from the hostel.) No using the elevators between the hours of 8:00a and 10:30a in the A building. (Boo, of your room is on the 4th floor.) There were also designated quiet hours. (This I actually liked.)

There were a few perks. There was a wonderful free breakfast of various breads, spreads, meats, fruit cereal, teas, juice, and coffees.  All day bike rentals were available at prices comparable to surrounding shops. The lobby offered free WiFi or you could use their computers for a small fee. The female dorm sinks had large round basins with stoppers.

Tip: If you need to store your luggage before the 2:00p check-in or after you checkout, there are coin-operated lockers available.

We stayed for 4 nights in a dorm for 10 people in total.

General:
Basic room, with bunk beds and cupboard (it reminds of a school locker) for your luggage and a rail with two hangers for your clothes. (bring your own padlock). Toilet and shower in separate spaces.

Negatives:
Breakfast is extremly basic - toast, cofffee and fruit.

Cleaning ladies could be a little bit less noisy and more thorough cleaning

Free wifi only if you have your own computer/tablet

Very young crowd (16 - 20's), although it is a hostel so cant really complain that much.

Positives:

If you stay here, you are perfectly located in Amsterdam. I would say that this is the best of this hostel. Location, location, location.

Staff are friendly.

Bike rental service available at the hostel.

Nice bar and restaurant at the lobby.

I stayed here with three friends last weekend. The location is decent, easily walkable to lots of places, but also slightly removed from the busier street. We booked two private rooms with private bathrooms - these bathrooms were the size of closets but were very clean. Beds were pretty crappy, but I slept well each night. The staff didn't give us rooms next to each other and were not flexible in changing them, which I thought was pretty unreasonable considering we all booked together as a foursome. This hostel is filled with tons of young people, so if you're looking for a great hostel experience this is probably a great place. I think my friends and I realized that by your late 20s, these kinds of places are just not quite as great anymore.

The Stayokay Amsterdam Vondelpark is one of the better hostels I have stayed at. Check-in was easy, and our four-bed ensuite room was very nice and super clean. We definitely wanted to stay in a quieter neighborhood outside the Red Light District. The hostel is still within easy walking distance to the rest of the city. The value is excellent, and the front desk staff was very helpful in arranging transportation to the airport. Free wi-fi is only available in the lobby. I would stay here again for sure.

I would rate it as full and this is based as a backpacker. Its environment is friendly therefore its great for families as well. They have games rooms provided on the reception floor as well as computers if required. Wireless is also available. This was my first solo trip and im glad i made this accomodation as my choice.

Rooms.
Relatively clean i would say. the room came with its own shower and toilet thats separated.

Toilet.
I would say clean as though its your home toilet. (you can walk in barefoot so imagine that kinda cleanliness)

All in all in terms of room, i think walking around barefoot is ok.

Pricing.
I would say cheap. cant really remember how much i paid for it.

Location
Its south of the train station. So walking would be a challenge.. took me about 30 mins but thats the best way to really see the city!

Room Tip: get a mixed room.. i think its fun. getting to know people who are travelling across europe and exch...
