With this hotel, you really get what you pay for but in fairness, there was a good guy in the reception who was really nice named Edward from Latvia who helped us carry our big luggage up the steep & narrow spiral staircase since there was no lift & our room was in the second floor. He also gave us some food when we
were unable to have dinner at a late hour. Also they really stick to the time for breakfast. Once, we were
just late 5 minutes & we were not allowed to have breakfast anymore even if they saw us on our way there.

Room Tip: Don't stay in this hotel if you have big or heavy luggage as there's no lift & the spira...

Do not go to this place. Hotel was absolutely terrible. Room was like a doghouse. It was so small and dirty that we couldnt stay there. The breakfest was nonexistent and we had to go to restaurant because there were nothing eatable. It felt like living in a tent. If you have other options do not go here. Wc or wifi didnt work at all. horrible place i have to say.

Ive given this place a poor rating compared to other hotels we have stayed across the world. That said it is in a nice part of Amsterdam within easy walking distance to the main tourist areas, 2 of the 3 staff members we met were very friendly and helpful, the other didn't look like they wanted to be there at all. It was the cheapest of the inner city hotels I found and so I can't really complain about the broken tv, old furnishings and the mold on the bathroom ceiling as it provided 4 semi comfortable beds in a nice location. Oh and the smell of Amsterdams finest wafts up to the rooms from the small street below so if you don't like it then you probably shouldn't be in Amsterdam anyway! :)

As expected this is simple accommodation. I am not sure what people are expecting from this hotel as it is obvious that it is a simple bed, wardrobe and hand washing facilities. It has a decent amount of space in the room. The shared toilet is incredibly tiny and takes quite a lot of navigational and contortionist skills to enter (I have never experienced anything like it). The bathroom was clean enough. Yes the steps are very small and very difficult to climb, but you are are at cheap hotel in Amsterdam - what do you expect (just don’t go if you are older or have problems with this). The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything your neighbors are doing. The wifi was patchy and you needed to go down stairs to get "passes" to use it. You also could not operate 2 different devices (eg phone and laptop) on it. It is in a good location, a short walk from many attractions. The day time receptionist is rude beyond belief and at time disdainful - even rolled his eyes upon my arrival when I asked for towels (which were apparently not cleaned yet). The night attendant (I think he is Russian) was pleasant and helpful. If you expect a palatial accommodation with all the trimmings, save yourself the hassle don't stay here and have a cry about it. If you want a bed and not much else, it is adequate. It is very overpriced but so is everywhere in Amsterdam. It was modest accommodation which is fine, but the lack of any extra services really let it down. I would definitely not recommend it, nor would I say do not stay here.

Hotel is really good value for Amsterdam and is in the nicest part of the city - the museums quarter. It's in a quiet street and the single room was basic but comfortable, bathrooms were clean enough, free WIFI. Breakfast was good. Close to the bus to get to the airport, supermarkets and cafes. Staff were pleasant and were able to book me a ticket to the Van Gogh museum so I didn't have to wait in the queue.
The stairs are extremely steep so be careful if you have heavy luggage!

Room Tip: Stairs are extremely steep and there is no elevator so don't book a room on the top floors if yo...
