Had a wonderful stay at La Boheme for 3 days. The rooms were sunny and clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the breakfasts were delicious. The best part was the staff at the front desk - they were very warm, friendly and helpful and gave great tips on places to visit and eat. Try out De Koe for dinner/drinks just down the road! Highly recommend La Boheme.

Room Tip: We had a 3 bedded room on the 4th floor. Only cautionary remark is the stairs are very steep and nar...

Perfect base to explore the city from. Friendly and helpful service, breakfast was included in our stay which was a pleasant surprise and the room was more than adequate for our short stay. Some nice local amenities and restaurants.

At Hotel La Bohème we've found the nicest staff we've met so far since we began our journey: smiley and super helpful, always offering directions and recommendations that were really useful. And the location was just perfect: a block away from Leidseplein! Walking distance from the city centre, the flower market and Museumplein. A tram away from the Red Lights District and Dam Square (we just walked to those two spots as well so you don't need the tram but it's a nice touch). The breakfast was really good too!

Room Tip: We stayed 6 days and our room was at the top floor so we had to deal with the steep stairs during ou...

Stayed here last Sunday & Monday. Loved the location, we chose it as its a couple of doors away from the Melkweg club that we were going to on Sunday night.
First impression is great as the entrance, reception/breakfast room & downstairs loo have had a make-over which the rest of the Hotel would benefit from. Staff are very friendly & helpful, and they do have a lovely cat!
We stayed in room 16 at the top which is the smallest double room we have ever stayed in.
It was very clean, warm, very comfortable bed and quiet, but some of the towels do need replacing as they are a bit grey.
You have to collect TV remote from reception, and pay a 20 euro deposit for the room key. Buffet breakfast is served ' till 11.00.
As other reveiwers have said, the staircase is very steep and narrow, not a problem for us, but could be for some.
Hotel Staff tip - Schipol Airport bus No.197 is across the road outside the America Hotel, runs every 15 mins, 4 euros, takes 1/2 hour - brilliant!
We enjoyed our stay here, it suited us perfectly- it just felt overpriced -but then you are really paying for the location not the room.

Room Tip: Room 16 (double on top floor at the back) VERY small.

This is a lovely, clean and friendly hotel located in the heart of the city in the up market theatre district. The staff are amazingly friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The steep stairs are great fun, the breakfast is excellent and Mimi the cat makes a wonderful reception assistant. Highly recommended to anyone visiting for a city break and would like to sleep in quiet and friendly surroundings.

Room Tip: Room 11 has an excellent view of the front street.

This is a great hotel in every way. The location is unbeatable, a block from Leidseplein. The hotel is nice and clean, with a big bar and reception area where breakfast is served. My room was decently roomy for Amsterdam, and the bathroom was also a good size. The room was clean and had a window that opened, a TV with English channels, and a telephone, plus a big closet. Plenty of room for clothes. Breakfast was good, a nice variety of breads, cheeses, eggs, coffee, etc. Very friendly staff. I loved it.

Beware of very steep steps.

Take the bus from the airport. I am always leery of taking a bus from the airport, but it was super-easy, cheap, and dumps you out right at Leidseplein, a block from the hotel.
