On a quiet comfortable street, Nicolaas Witsin is just a few easy walking blocks from the Rijksmuseum and a couple more blocks to the hub-bub of the Leidsplein. The location is great, even to walk after dark. Hotel staff is super friendly. The room I had (for three) was Euro-small but not bad for a place to sleep and shower. Everything was sparkling-clean; the bathroom was up-to-date and well lighted, TV worked fine, super strong Wifi, and easy to manipulate radiator heat system. Elevator or really interesting circular stairs if you prefer. I couldn't have asked for better. Breakfast was complete with the usual assortments of breads, cold-cuts, fruits, coffee, cereal...etc. It the price is right for you, grab it up. You can't find a better place in a more convenient location. Yup, I would stay again if my travels take be to the A'dam direction!

An ideal location, friendly and exceptionally helpful staff, the highest standards of cleanliness, excellent continental breakfast. Very good value for money. I recommend this hotel without reservation and when I return to Amsterdam I shall definitely stay here again!

I was them guest in 2005, 2006 and 2007. This hotel is not a big one, but really warm - you feel here at home. Is looking more like a family business; the building is old, furniture old style but rooms are clean and well maintained.
Take care, they don't have them own parking, so the parking places from the street have to be paid ( 3,20 Euro/h ) but from 21;00 - to 07:00 parking is free of charge. Price are fair and food was good . Don't forget, no so far away from this hotel, if you cross the park, you will find a nice Argentinian restaurant - La Pata Negra - just 200-300 m on the left side.

If you're looking for lively nightlife and to sample some of the more dubious attractions of Amsterdam then this hotel is not for you, if not then this hotel has everything you need - en-suite bathroom, hairdryer, room safe, breakfast and a lift. Believe you me I struggled to find a hotel in Amsterdam with all my requirements - some of them are too trendy for their own good with a bath in the middle of the bedroom or en-suite bathroom with glass walls - not even sure I would want that if I was travelling with my husband let alone a friend! And have you seen the steepness of the stairs in some hotels? But this hotel hit the spot. I travelled with a friend, and this hotel had a room with twin beds and all the above mentioned necessities, the lift was very welcome as we did attempt the (very) steep stairs once, just to try out! The staff were friendly and very helpful, pointing us in the right direction for restaurants etc. The breakfast was great and set us up for the day. The hotel is situated in a quiet street just round the corner from a tram stop, we took tram 25 from Centraal and were there in about 15 minutes, though we also walked into the centre very easily along the beautiful canals. The only down side was the size of the room and bathroom, both on the slightly small size, but I think that that's the norm in Amsterdam.

We stayed for a few nights and found the hotel to be perfectly situated , near to the city centre . The transport system makes it very easy to get around amsterdam . The trams , metro and the canal bus stops were very near to the hotel . Breakfast was very good . More than enough to fill up with before a busy day of exploration around this beautiful elegant city . The best cup of coffee of the day was the one that i had for breakfast . Excellent brew !!!! Lots and lots of restaurants nearby to choose from for the evening meal , plus delis and supermarkets for any snacks if needed . Our room although small, was clean with a wonderful comfy bed and pillows . Generous supplies of complimentary toiletries in the bathroom were very welcome . Friendly , helpful staff shared info about any attraction that we needed to find . Would stay here again .
