My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel september 20-23 2012. It is a quiet and simple hotel with no extra frills. The room was small and clean, linens were of decent quality. The carpet was a bit worn and the wall beside the bathroom had a small amount of mold. Bathroom was clean but there is no shower curtain, water gets everywhere...
Free wifi in the hotel is available but I found the connection to be a little slow at times.
Breakfast in the dining room was a pleasent experience. The coffee is fantastic and the fare simple. Bread with ham and cheese, boiled eggs...
I think the best thing about this hotel is the location! Situated beside a picturesque canal, away from the hustle and bustle of the Dam or the red light district. Easy access to all the sights by walking or the tram. About a 10-15 min walk from Centraal station. Great cafes near by.
This hotel is a good choice for people who are on a budget and won't be spending a ton of time in the room.

This "hotel" is one step above a hostel. While there is no shower curtain, they do provide a squeegee broom to help you to push the water from the shower to the drain before it hits the bedroom. Naturally, the walls opposite the shower show mold and the room smells of it. It is hard for two people to move at once in the room, and one finds it convenient to dress on the bed. While the staff tried to be nice, the mold, dirt, poor accommodations and poor breakfast won out.

The BUT is that you should really know the accommodation here is VERY basic. And I have stayed in some very basic hotels in Paris, for instance, that were cheaper but far more comfortable and better appointed. I've also stayed in some of the world's grandest. This place has no pretensions to be grand, and the price (90-odd Euro for a double room for single occupation, including breakfast) is just about reasonable. It is clean, and the location, on the Bloemgracht, is pretty and sought-after., and the service is friendly enough. But my room was as basic as can be - so too the bathroom., and the breakfast. Also they charge an extra 5% whether you pay with credit OR debit card. A pretty depressing stay, to be honest. I would say only stay here if you really can't find anywhere else.

We slept in one of the attic rooms, it was charming to look out on the rooftops. The location is excellent, the room clean and comfortable, and breakfast included was good value.

I stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights in mid-September. I arrived at 2am and woke up the owner who wasn't best pleased, and the stay didn't get off to the best of starts. After this the hotel and rooms were pleasant enough. I met a couple of nice travelers. The two biggest issues were where it was. Although I'm not blessed with great navigation skills. On the second night with it pouring with rain and having to get up at 5am for my flight back home i just stumbled on endless roads trying to get back from central station. It was 115 euros for the two nights as I had to pay extra for using my card. Overall It was probably too much but I'm sure there are worse places to stay in Amsterdam.

Nice little hotel in a quiet area but not too far from attractions such as Westerkerk, Anne Frank House and so on. A little expensive for what it was but you could say that of just about every hotel in Amsterdam. It was clean, friendly enough, the wi-fi worked fine, the view of the canal was nice, the water was hot, the nights were quiet. No frills but not a bad option at all. I would look for a cheaper option next time because that's what I'm like, but I wouldn't have a problem staying here again either.
