“Nice hotel with excellent location !”
Reviewed 30 September 2011

I chose Koopermoolen because of its location. Its near the Amsterdam central station and near to all the things in Amsterdam. I was expecting it to be a little noisy as it was near the red light district and a very touristy area but it was fine.I stayed there for 3 nights. I could walk to almost all the places from the hotel and since my trip also involved travelling to other places in Netherlands and Belgium by train I could not have asked for more. I could simply walk to and back from the station. The room was small but clean. It was ok as I only wanted to sleep for the night. The bathroom was similar but very clean. They served buffet breakfast which was good considering the price. The staff was friendly and give tips on how to make the best out of Amsterdam. I would recommend it for the budget traveller and also for those who have to make trips in and out of Amsterdam by train. The only disadvantage is that the staircases are small and steep but that is true for all houses in Amsterdam.Decent price, fantastic location, neat & tidy with helpful staff, that is all what is needed. Also, there was free wi fi which was surprise to me but it worked pretty well for me.

Room Tip: Choose a room which does not face the main street. I heard it gets very noisy at night especially du...

We stayed here with two teenage sons for one night on a ferry break. The location was ideal, being 5 minutes walk from the P&O bus drop off and pick up point.
The hotel staff were all very helpful and courteous. Offered trip advice, places to see and best place to change currency.
The hotel is on a busy road, but we asked for a quiet room and were given one. It was spotlessly clean and much bigger than I expected. With big shower cubicle , air con and a TV. There is also a lift, for people less able to manage the stairs.
Another really good thing is an ample buffet breakfast is included. Saves having to find somewhere reasonable to eat.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room if you will be in before the bars close

I arrived a little before the sunrise, a time unfit for checking in, and without reserve in the middle week of the Queen's Day, but I was very well attended.
Acceptable price for clean room, hot shower and a great breakfast. In addition to free internet and best of all, very well located.
The service was excellent, the receptionist gave me tips all the city's tourism, and all hotel employees were very kind.
Certainly when I return to Amsterdam, i don' t have to worry about a place to stay.

Stayed here with a friend during May this year.

The Hotel is a short walk from Central station and within a stones throw of the 'local entertainment'.

Our room appeared to have been refurbed recently. It was very clean, spacious and very quiet. Sleep quality was fantastic.

To be honest, we didnt spend much time at the hotel. However, from what i experienced of the hotel i cannot really fault it. Very good value for money and would stay there again.

Room Tip: Be nice to the receptionist.

We stayed here in early June, 2011 with our four adult sons. We had a double & 2 twin rooms. The importance of an elevator in Amsterdam cannot be overstated. The stairs are murderous.
The rooms were small, very small, but what more do you need but a place to sleep & a desk to put the laptop on? Free WiFi, smoking allowed in the rooms, daily service.

The rooms were very clean & the staff were friendly & helpful. The beds were quite comfortable as well. The windows seemed to block out most of the street noise, so all in all we had a very comfortable stay here.

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Felt really safe in the hotel and the location was amazing, right in the middle of everything! Would defiently recommend. Don't expect 5 star accommodation just a great value basic hotel.
