Booked this hotel as it was reasonably priced and not far from Amsterdam City Centre, the hotel is located in what seems to be a businees area. The staff were helpful in providing information and a local map plus bus timetable (16.5 Euros for a 72hr pass) number 48 bus stop is just across the road from the hotel and they run very frequently and only take 10-15 minutes to reach the centre where you can then travel to other parts of the city. Breakfast in the hotel was included and there was a good selection of items. Amsterdam itself is like Venice but with plenty of bikes, scooters and cars, I have never seen a bike park before but apparently there are 1/2 million bikes in Amsterdam. Had a nice 1 hour boat trip around the canals, a coach trip to see the windmills, cheese making and the traditional clog factory, 5 1/2 hours in total. Also visited the Van Gogh museum. There is no shortage of things to do and see, so I would thoroughly recommend a visit for a few days, even nicer if the weather is good as it was on our trip.

After our super stay of 5 days with one to go, Jorge (a staff member)came outside as we were eating our Burger King breakfasts as we had done day after day. He told us we needed to be at Burger King to eat???? We let him know we were his guests. Could use some lessons in tact! Other than this, hotel is located very well, Bus 48 was our friend, grocery store two stops away,City Center and train station about 6 stops. Hotel is clean, female desk staff are very helpful and price is good!

Ina quiet street - In a 10 Minutes to the city center by public transport - easy to go to the airport by public transport - There is 24 hours public transport to city center - Clean and comfort room - reasonable price compare to city center hotels - Expensive breakfast

In the afternoon when I checked in one staff in the front dest was very nice and professional. A few moment later, when I called up from my room and report an internet problem, she sent a technician to check and fixed the problem quickly.
but, in the evening, when I came down to borrow an international power adapter (I am from US), another staff asked for a cash deposit of 15 Euro. It happened I didn't have money with me. I suggest her to put it on my room account. She said no, she only accept cash deposit, and started to complained about some customers don't return a power adapter when they left, .... It is hard to believe a traveler who can afford staying in a hotel such as Ibis will "steal" an adapter and bring it back to home country (since it is useless there) or bring it to another hotel to use (since an adapter is such a small thing and is actually available to borrow without deposit or anything similar in other similar, less, or more expensive hotels). I am not sure this is a problem at the staff level, or the above level, but I strongly believe this kind of little things will eventually hurt the hotel itself.
